ABSTRACT FROM ADVERTISEMENT SHEETS.

17th January, Thursday, noon, Half-yearly Statutory Meeting of Education Board will be held.

18th January, Friday, noon, a Bay Mare will be sold at South Dunedin Pound.

28th January, Monday, last day for paying Broad Bay Road Rate to Wm. Becon.

21st January, Monday, last day for paying Corstorphine Road Rate to Peter Wright, Collector.

25th January, Friday, noon, a Strawberry Spotted Bull will be sold at East Taieri Pound.

£500 will be paid for conviction of the person who set fire to stacks in Taieri District, on 9th or 10th May last.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until noon of Monday, the 21st January, for:

  1. Tokomairiro to Tuapeka.—Contract No. 211.—Construction of about 42 Chains of Road between Contracts Nos. 180 and 181.

  2. Palmerston to Oamaru.—Contract No. 216.—Formation of about 44 Chains of Road in Blocks 5 and 7, Oamaru District.

  3. Dunedin to Waikouaiti.—Contract No. 218.—Supply of 3300 cubic yards of Road Metal between Water of Leith Toll-bar and 16th mile post.

  4. Dunedin to Waikouaiti.—Contract No. 219.—Supply of 1800 cubic yards of Road Metal between 16th mile post and Waikouaiti Bridge.

  5. Waikouaiti to Palmerston.—Contract No. 220.—Supply of 1180 cubic yards of Road Metal between Waikouaiti Bridge and northern boundary of Block 2, Hawksbury District.

  6. Dunedin to East Taieri Bridge.—Contract No. 221.—Supply of 4560 cubic yards of Road Metal between the 8th and 13th mile posts.

  7. Dunedin to East Taieri Bridge.—Contract No. 222.—Supply of 3,648 cubic yards of Road Metal, between the 13th and 17th mile posts.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contracts Nos. 211, 216, 218, 219, 220, 221, 222,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

1st. Waihemo to Macrae’s Flat.—Contract No. 223.—Formation of about 33½ Chains of Road, near Wayne’s Station.

2nd. East Taieri Bridge to Tokomairiro.—Contract No. 224.—Supply of 3,000 Cubic Yards of Road Metal.

3rd. Main Road through Dunedin.—Contract No. 225.—Supply of 2,500 Cubic Yards of Road Metal.

4th. North Trunk to Port Chalmers.—Contract No. 226.—Supply of 1,000 Cubic Yards of Road Metal.

5th. Tokomairiro to Tuapeka.—Contract No. 227.—Supply of 2,500 cubic yards of gravel.

6th. Tokomairiro to Clutha.—Contract No. 228.—Supply of 1,000 Cubic Yards of Road Metal between South Tokomairiro River and Lovell’s Flat.

7th. Saddle Hill to West Taieri Bridge.—Contract No. 229.—Supply of 1,000 Cubic Yards of Road Metal.

8th. Dunedin to North Taieri.—Contract No. 230.—Supply of 350 Cubic Yards of Road Metal.

9th. North Trunk Road to Moeraki Port.—Contract No. 231.—Supply of 200 Cubic Yards of Road Metal.

10th. Dunedin to Portobello.—Contract No. 232.—Supply of 400 Yards of Road Metal.

POTATOES.—Fresh Tenders will be received at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Dunedin, until noon of Thursday, 17th January current, for supply of Potatoes for Hospital, Lunatic Asylum, and Immigration Barracks until 31st December, 1867. Schedules on application. The Government will not necessarily accept the lowest or any Tender.

A. Tolmie, Andrew Smart, Francis Gardner, Jas. Hassell, D. P. Steele, Robt. Hunter; also, application of Henry John Cope, Clyde, certificate signed by John Cambridge, Benjamin Vaglar, David McConnochie, Charles Field, R. Barton, A. Christopher.
