All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement six hundred (600) links towards the south by the Lagoon, six hundred and ten (610) links; towards the south-east by the Lagoon, five hundred and twenty (520) links; and towards the south-west by a road line and Crown lands, six hundred (600) links; also by a road line, seven hundred (700) links.

NOTICE

Of certain Land in the Incorporated Town of Lawrence having been Reserved as a Site for an Athenaeum and Mechanics’ Institute.

By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 62 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” recommended that the Land hereinafter described should be reserved as a Site for an Athenaeum and Mechanics’ Institute for the Incorporated Town of Lawrence, and it is expedient that the said Land should be so reserved for that purpose. Now therefore I, Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf by the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the Land hereinafter described as a Site for an Athenaeum and Mechanics’ Institute for the Incorporated Town of Lawrence, henceforth to be known as the “Lawrence Athenaeum Reserve,” that is to say:—

All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement seventeen (17) poles, more or less, situate in the Town of Lawrence, being sections numbered respectively 10 and 11, Block XLI. on the map of the said town, bounded towards the north by Crown lands, fifty (50) links; towards the north-east by Derwent-street, one hundred and fifty-four (154) links; towards the south by Ross Place, one hundred and seventy (170) links; and towards the west by section numbered 9, one hundred (100) links.

Of certain Land in the Incorporated Town of Queenstown having been reserved for Recreation and Public Purposes.

By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 62 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” recommended that the Land hereinafter described should be reserved for Recreation and Public Purposes for the Incorporated Town of Queenstown, and it is expedient that the said Land should be so reserved for those purposes; Now, therefore, I, Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf by the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the Land hereinafter described a Reserve for Recreation and Public Purposes for the Incorporated Town of Queenstown, henceforth to be known as the “Queenstown Recreation Reserve,” that is to say:—

All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement thirty-five (35) acres, more or less, situate in the Township of Queenstown, being the Peninsula as delineated on the Map of the said Town, bounded towards the north-west by the Wakatipu Lake, three thousand and seventy (3070) links; towards the north-east by a road line and Crown Lands, one thousand one hundred and sixty (1160) links; towards the south-east by the Wakatipu Lake, two thousand seven hundred (2700) links; and towards the south-west by the Wakatipu Lake, one thousand two hundred (1200) links.

In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,” I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint that the Port of Molyneux, in the Province of Otago, shall be a Warehousing Port for the purposes of “The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,” and do hereby approve of the same as a Port for the importation of tobacco.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and dated this twenty-sixth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

THE following Acts passed by the General Assembly of New Zealand in the Session held in the twenty-ninth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled—

“An Act for the Regulation of the Militia,”
“An Act to Amend the Marine Board Act, 1863;”

having been laid before the Queen in conformity with the provisions of “The Constitution Act,” His Excellency the Governor has been informed by the Secretary of State that Her Majesty will not be advised to exercise her power of disallowance with respect to these Acts.

BY virtue of the powers in me vested by “The Deeds Registration Amendment Act, 1863,” I hereby make the following Regulations for the practice and procedure of the several Register of Deeds Offices throughout the Colony, to take effect on and after the first day of January, 1867.

  1. Where any will has been registered, and it shall afterwards appear that such will relates to other lands in addition to those delineated upon or annexed thereto, a plan of such other lands, accompanied by a statutory declaration of some person competent to declare to the facts, may be registered in the Register of Deeds where such will has been registered, whereupon, the Registrar shall make the appropriate entries in the index of title books relating to such lands, and shall cause such plan and declaration to be recorded; and upon the recorded copy of the will, so registered as aforesaid, shall make...
