PROCLAMATION

Fixing and Appointing the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Naseby as the place for holding Quarterly Licensing Meetings in the Licensing District of Hamilton.

By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by Section XII of the “Licensing Ordinance, 1855,” it is enacted that if at any time there shall be more than one Resident Magistrate’s Court, or more than one Court of Petty Sessions usually holden in the same Licensing District, the Superintendent shall, by Proclamation published in the Government Gazette of the said Province, fix and appoint at which of the Courts within the Licensing District the Quarterly Licensing Meetings thereafter mentioned should be held — Now therefore I, Thomas Dick, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby fix and appoint the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Naseby as the Court at which the Quarterly Licensing Meetings for the Hamilton Licensing District shall be held.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this (L.S.) thirty-first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed Mr. John Torry Douglas, (Clerk to the Chief Inspector of Sheep), to be Registrar of Brands, and his office at the Provincial Treasury, Dunedin, to be the office for registering the same

under the “Sheep Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1857.” Appointment to date from the 27th day of June, 1864.

COMMISSIONERS OF THE WASTE LAND BOARD APPOINTED.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that, by virtue of the powers conferred on him by “The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866,” he has, by warrants under his hand, duly nominated, constituted, and appointed,

William Henry Cuttten, Esquire, of Dunedin, to be Chief Commissioner of the “Waste Lands Board of the Province of Otago;” and

The Honorable Henry John Miller, Esquire, Provincial Secretary of the Province of Otago;

Frederick Joseph Moss, Esquire, Provincial Treasurer of the Province of Otago;

John Turnbull Thomson, Esquire, Chief Surveyor of the Province of Otago,

To be Commissioners of the said “Waste Lands Board of the Province of Otago.”

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed James William Robertson, Esquire, to be a Manager of the Public Cemetery, Queenstown, vice Mr. Samuel Worth resigned.
