DO HEREBY DECLARE
do hereby, with the advice of my said Executive Council, declare that the said Municipality hereby created shall be divided into four Wards, to be known respectively as South Ward, Middle Ward, East Ward, and High Ward, and that the boundaries of the said Wards shall be those respectively defined in the fourth Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
The sections of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” containing the provisions of the said Ordinance, extended to and applicable within the Incorporated Town of Port Chalmers, that is to say, sections numbered 6 to 11, both inclusive, sections numbered 13 to 27, both inclusive, sections numbered 29 to 97, both inclusive, sections numbered 99 to 114, both inclusive, and sections numbered 116 and 122 respectively.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Sections of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” applicable to the Incorporated Town of Port Chalmers, with respective modifications set opposite the numbers of the sections.

| Section Twenty-eight | Instead of the words “City of Dunedin,” in this Section, the words “The Incorporated Town of Port Chalmers.” |
| Section Ninety-eight | Instead of the words “one hundred thousand pounds” in this Section, the words “thirty thousand pounds.” |
THIRD SCHEDULE.
Boundaries of the Incorporated Town of Port Chalmers, as delineated on the Record Map of the said Town, deposited in the Survey Office in Dunedin, in the said Province.
All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement two hundred and fifty (250) acres, more or less, bounded by a line proceeding from Mussel Bay along the eastern boundary of section numbered 62, Sawyer’s Bay Survey District, to Lower Harbor West Survey District, thence by the south-eastern boundary of the said Lower Harbor West Survey District, to Otago Harbor, thence proceeding in a southerly direction by Otago Harbor round the Port Chalmers Peninsula and Mussel Bay to the starting point.
FOURTH SCHEDULE.
Ward boundaries, Incorporated Town of Port Chalmers.
South Ward comprises all that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in Mussel Bay, opposite the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 263 and 264, thence to and along the boundary line between said sections to section 266, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 263 and 266 to section numbered 261, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 261 and 266 and its continuation in the same direction to section 256, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 256 and 268 and its continuation in the same direction to section 258, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 257 and 258 and its continuation in the same south-easterly direction to the Beach, thence round the Peninsula to the starting point.
Middle Ward comprises all that area bounded towards the north by a line extending from Mussel Bay to the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 176 and 177, thence along the boundary line between the said sections to section 178, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 176 and 178 to section 175, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 175 and 178 to section 174, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 174 and 179 to its continuation in the same direction to section 167, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 167 and 182, and its continuation in the same direction to the centre of Grey-street, thence along a line in the centre of Grey-street in a southerly direction to a line in the centre of Constitution-street, thence along a line in the centre of Constitution-street to a point opposite the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 380 and 381, thence along the boundary line between the said sections and its continuation in the same south-easterly direction to the beach; towards the east by the harbor; towards the south-west by the South Ward; and towards the west by Mussel Bay.
East Ward comprises all that area bounded by a line commencing at the Jetty, and proceeding along the centre of Grey-street, to a point opposite the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 17 and 19, thence to and along the said line to section numbered 18, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 18 and 19 to section 47, then along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 20 and 47 to section 21, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered 21 and 47 to section 22, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 21 and 22 and its continuation in the same direction to the centre of Currie street, thence along a line in the centre of the said street to a point opposite the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 162 and 163, thence to and along the said line to section 164, thence along the boundary line of sections numbered respectively 163 and 164 to section 168, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 165 and 168 to section 169, thence along the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 166 and 169, and its continuation in the same direction to Middle Ward, thence along the northern boundary of Middle Ward in an easterly direction to the Harbor, thence along the Harbor in a northerly direction to the starting point.
High Ward comprises the remaining portion of the said Town, bounded by a line proceeding from Mussel Bay along the eastern boundary of section 62, Sawyer's Bay Survey District to Lower Harbor, West Survey District, thence by the south-eastern boundary of the said Lower Harbor, West District to Otago Harbor, thence along the Otago Harbor in a southerly direction to East Ward, thence along the western boundary of East Ward to Middle Ward, thence along the northern boundary of Middle Ward in a westerly direction to the starting point.
