DEPASTURING LICENSE REGULATIONS
District an application in writing for a Depasturing License, which license the Warden is hereby authorised to grant in the form hereinafter mentioned; and every person depositing any such application shall pay therewith a fee of 2s. 6d.

Any person infringing these regulations by depasturing cattle on the before-mentioned Lands without a licence, or by depasturing cattle in excess of the number for which any such licence has been issued, will be liable to a penalty not exceeding Ten pounds (£10) for the first offence, and Twenty pounds (£20) for any second or subsequent offence, as provided by section 53 of the "Gold Fields Act," 1862.

A list of the Depasturing Licences issued, and of the names of the Licensees, with the quantity and description of stock which each person is authorised to depasture, shall be posted in the Warden’s Office, so that it can be inspected at any time by the public.
The following shall be the form of Depasturing Licence:—

And I, the said Thomas Dick, as such Superintendent as aforesaid, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf, do hereby appoint the undermentioned officers of the Gold Fields to be Wardens of such reserves for the respective districts set opposite their names (that is to say):—
- Charles Worthington, Esquire, R.M., Waitahuna.
- Edward Croker, Esquire, R.M., Gabriels.
- Henry Wiramon Robinson, Esquire, R.M., Manuherekia, Dunstan, Clyde.
- Lowther Broad, Esquire, R.M., Arrow, Cardrona.
- Richmond Beetham, Esquire, R.M., Queenstown, Upper Shotover.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

- Sergeant Benjamin Britton, No. 192, to be Inspector of Slaughter Yards; also, to be Inspector of Weights and Measures, under the "Bread Ordinance, 1863," to act at Waitahuna, vice Sergeant Lin Ward Smyth, No. 125, transferred.
- Senior Sergeant Samuel Moore, No. 50, to be Inspector of Slaughter Yards, to act in the Dunedin District.

CROWN LANDS
Notice is hereby given that applications for unsurveyed Rural Land, received between the 15th instant and the 10th day of April next inclusive, will be brought before the Waste Land Board, on Wednesday, the 11th day of April, when the applicants must attend, to pay for such portions of the land as may be granted, or the applications will be declared abandoned, and the land will be re-opened for application on Thursday, the 12th day of April.

BYE-LAWS OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF DUNEDIN
1. A Bye-Law for regulating Hackney Carriages and Cabs, and the Owners and Drivers thereof, plying for hire within the City of Dunedin.
Whereas by an Ordinance passed by the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, in the twenty-eighth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Session XX, No. 191, intituled, "An Ordinance to Incorporate the Inhabitants of the City of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, and to enable towns and places within the said Province to be incorporated under the provisions of the same:" And whereas by an Act of the Governor and Legislative Council of the Colony of New Zealand, No. 55, 1865, intituled, "The Otago Municipal Corporation Empowering Act, 1865," it is among other things enacted that the Corporation of the City of Dunedin be empowered to make regulations for the licensing all hackney carriages, cabriolets, public conveyances, coaches, omnibusses, spring carts, or other vehicles of the like nature, waggons, drays, carts, and other vehicles for the carrying goods and merchandise, plying at or kept for hire within the city, and also, waggons, drays, or carts, or vehicles used in hawking firewood and water within the city respectively, and for registering the names of the owners, drivers, and conductors of all such passenger and other vehicles, and for the approval of owners and drivers before license granted: And whereas the Council of the City of Dunedin has by notification in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, dated the tenth day of January, 1866, empowered John Lazar, Esquire, Town Clerk of the City of Dunedin, to be an officer for licensing public conveyances within the Municipality of Dunedin, under the Acts in force for that purpose: And whereas the Council of the City of Dunedin has deemed it to be expedient to provide regulations to be observed by the owners and drivers of hackney carriages, and other vehicles as aforesaid, plying for hire within the limits of the said city: Be it therefore ordered and directed by the Council of the said City, by virtue of the authority in them vested in that behalf, that from and after the day on which this Bye-law shall come into operation, the following Regulations shall be in force within the City of Dunedin:—

This Bye-law shall apply to hackney carriages, omnibusses, cabriolets, public conveyances, coaches, or other vehicles of the like nature carrying passengers, plying, kept, or let for hire within the city; and no such hackney carriage, omnibus, cabriolet, public conveyance, coach, or other vehicle of any description whatsoever, shall ply for hire within the City of Dunedin unless the same shall be duly licensed by the Town Clerk for the time being of the said city, and shall pay for such license to the Town Clerk the sum of two pounds two shillings, and the like sum annually for its renewal in every succeeding twelve calendar months.

Before a license for any such vehicle as aforesaid shall be granted, the owner and also the driver, or other person having charge of the same, shall submit their names to the office of the Town Clerk, and shall be approved of by the Mayor or one of the Councillors of the said city, and no person deemed by the said Mayor or Councillor to be unfit to hold a license shall be entrusted therewith; subject, however, to the right of appeal to the Council of the said city.
