tend to the said Township of Queenstown, by and under the name of the Corporation of the Town of Queenstown, and shall be applicable to and within the Municipality hereby created. And I do, with the like advice of my said Executive Council, proclaim and declare that such of the said provisions as are contained in the sections of the said last-mentioned Ordinance, specified in the first column of the second Schedule hereto, shall extend to the said Township, and be applicable to the Municipality hereby created, with and subject to the respective modifications contained herein, and in the second column of the said second Schedule hereto. And I hereby, with the advice of my said Executive Council, proclaim and declare, that the boundaries of the Municipality hereby created shall be those specified in the third Schedule hereto. And I do hereby, with the advice of my said Executive Council, declare that the said Municipality hereby created shall be divided into two Wards, to be known respectively as North Ward and South Ward, and that the boundaries of the said Wards shall be those respectively defined in the fourth Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

The Sections of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," containing the provisions of the said Ordinance, extended to and applicable within the Incorporated Town of Queenstown, that is to say, Sections numbered 6 to 11, both inclusive, Sections numbered 13 to 27, both inclusive, Sections numbered 29 to 97, both inclusive, Sections numbered 99 to 113, both inclusive, and Sections numbered 116 and 120 respectively.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Sections of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," applicable to the Incorporated Town of Queenstown, with respective modifications set opposite the numbers of the Sections.

NUMBERS OF SECTIONS. MODIFICATIONS.
Section Five The style shall be "The Corporation of the Town of Queenstown," instead of "The Corporation of the City of Dunedin."
Section Twelve Instead of "each of the said four several Wards of the City of Dunedin," the following modification, "each of the said two several Wards of the Incorporated Town of Queenstown."
Section Twenty-eight Instead of the words "City of Dunedin" in this Section, the words "the Incorporated Town of Queenstown."
Section Ninety-eight Instead of the words "one hundred thousand pounds" in this Section, the words "ten thousand pounds."

THIRD SCHEDULE.

Boundaries of the Incorporated Town of Queenstown as delineated on the Record Maps of the said Town, deposited in the Survey Office in Dunedin, in the said Province.

All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement two hundred and seventy (270) acres, more or less, bounded towards the north-west by Crown Lands, three thousand one hundred and thirty (3130) links, by Cemetery Reserve two thousand one hundred and ten (2110) links, also by Crown Lands, one thousand nine hundred and thirty (1930) links; towards the north-east by Crown Lands, four thousand nine hundred and twenty (4920) links; towards the south-east by Crown Lands, one thousand seven hundred (1700) links; towards the south by Lake Wakatipu, fifteen thousand (15,000) links be the same more or less; and towards the south-west by Crown Lands, one thousand one hundred (1100) links.

FOURTH SCHEDULE.

Ward Boundaries, Incorporated Town of Queenstown.

North Ward comprises all that area bounded towards the north-west by Crown Lands, three thousand one hundred and thirty (3130) links, by Cemetery Reserve, two thousand one hundred and ten (2110) links, also by Crown Lands, one thousand nine hundred and thirty (1930) links; towards the north-east by Crown Lands, one thousand one hundred (1100) links; towards the south-east by the South Ward and Lake Wakatipu to the Town Boundary; and towards the south-west by Crown Lands, one thousand one hundred (1100) links.

South Ward comprises all that area bounded towards the north-west by a line commencing at Rees-street, and proceeding in a north-easterly direction along the centre of Beach-street to a line between sections numbered respectively seventeen (17) and eighteen (18), block V, thence along the said line to section five (5), thence along a line between sections five (5) and seventeen (17) to section six (6), thence along line between sections five (5) and six (6) and its continuation in the same direction to the Town Boundary; towards the north-east by Crown Lands three thousand eight hundred (3800) links; towards the south-east Crown Lands one thousand seven hundred (1700) links; and towards the south by Lake Wakatipu to a point in a line with the centre of Ballarat-street, thence along the centre of Ballarat-street to a point in the centre of Rees-street, thence along the centre of Rees-street to the starting point.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at (L.S.) Dunedin, this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

PROCLAMATION

Of Regulations for the Depasturing of Stock upon certain Lands within Proclaimed Gold Fields in the Province of Otago, and of the Appointment of Wardens.

By His Honor THOMAS DICK, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province.

I, THOMAS DICK, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority delegated to and vested in me in this behalf, make, proclaim, and declare the Regulations following for the depasturing of stock upon Lands within proclaimed Gold Fields over which no pastoral lease or license exists, or the licenses for which have been cancelled or suspended, namely, upon the Gold Field Reserves within the districts of Manuherikia, Clyde, Arrow, Upper Shotover, Waitahuna, and Queenstown, in the said Province (that is to say)—

  1. Every holder of a miner’s right or of a business license shall be entitled to run two head of great cattle or horses free of charge.

  2. All other cattle running in the before-mentioned Lands shall be assessed and paid for annually at the following rates, namely:—

    For every head of large cattle, ....... 2s. 6d.
    For every horse, .................. 2s. 6d.
    For every head of small cattle, ...... 0s. 6d.

  3. Every person desirous of running cattle on the said Lands shall first deposit with the Warden of the
