NOTE.—The results are obtained from observations taken at 9.30 a.m., 3.30 p.m., and 9.30 p.m. each day. The self-registering instruments are read at 10 a.m., for 24 hours previous. The thermometers are compared periodically with a standard, and the index errors computed. The wind gauge used from the 1st August, 1863, is Dr. Robinson's cup and dial anemometer, which gives the velocity, and from it the pressure of the wind at any time; also the horizontal movement of the wind in miles in 24 hours.

The greatest pressure observed for the year was 30.581, on the 14th February, and the least, 28.901, on 19th November; the approximate range, therefore, for the year being 1.680.

(a) On 4th February.

(b) On 14th August.

(c) On 6th February and 9th March.

(d) On 15th June and 15th August.

(e) On 28th October.

(f) On 9th December, W.S.W., (for 5 months.)

The greatest pressure observed for the year was 30.609, on the 3rd June, and the least, 28.806, on 4th February; the approximate range, therefore, for the year being 1.803.

(a) On 10th February.

(b) On 31st July.

(c) On 1st January.

(d) On 31st July and 1st August.

(e) On 9th January.

(f) On 2nd February, W. and W.N.W.
