NOTICE to Assisted Immigrants.—As a large amount of passage money in bills is still owing by Immigrants assisted by the Provincial Government of Otago, since the year 1857,—Notice is hereby given to all such immigrants, that unless prompt payment be made, or fresh arrangements entered into for the payment of the balances now so long due, legal proceedings will be adopted for the recovery of the debt without further notice.
Female immigrants who have been brought out to the Colony under the Female Emigration Scheme of 1862, 1863, and 1864, are requested to pay the balance of passage money due by them without delay, otherwise legal means will be adopted to enforce payment.
TO THE RATEPAYERS OF THE MORNINGTON ROAD DISTRICT.—In pursuance of clause 35, Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865, Notice is hereby given, that the Assessment Roll for the District may be inspected at the Mornington School House, on every day, not being a Sunday, or public holiday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
THE Government being aware that there is a scarcity of labor on the Gold Fields, have authorised the Immigration Agent to receive applications from persons desirous of employing labor, and also from those in Dunedin or elsewhere who may be seeking for work.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the Annual Statutory Meeting of the owners and occupiers of land and householders in each Educational District, established under the provisions of the "Education Ordinance, 1864," for the election of a new School Committee, will be held upon Monday the 8th day of January, 1866, at 7 o'clock p.m., at the following mentioned places respectively, viz :—
At Dunedin in the Main District School-house, between York Place and Dowling Street.
At East Clutha, in the Main District School-house.
At Tokomairiro, in the Main District School-house Milton.
At Wakari, in the Main District School-house; and in the respective School-houses, or Buildings used as School-houses, in the following mentioned districts, viz.—Port Chalmers, Portobello, North East Harbor, Anderson's Bay, North East Valley, Mornington, Caversham, Green Island, East Taieri, Saddlehill, North Taieri, West Taieri, Lake Waipori, Waihola, Balclutha, Inch Clutha, Warepa, Kaihiku, Blueskin, Waikouaiti, Hampden, Otepopo, Oamaru, Lawrence, and Queenstown.
A list of the Educational Districts, with a description of their respective boundaries, will appear in a further advertisement.
See the 14th clause of the "Education Ordinance, 1864," in the Advertisement Sheet of 6th and 13th December, current.
[All Electors who do not at present receive the Advertisement Sheet are requested to send in their names, and the addresses which will find them by Post, to the Superintendent's Office, in order that the Advertisement Sheet may be sent to them.]

by Andrew Craig, North-East Valley, one Black Mare, branded JD on near shoulder, collar marked, white spot on belly, long tail; also one Chestnut Mare, branded WL and No. 6, upside down on near shoulder, two white spots on face, long tail, owner unknown, for trespassing on the enclosed lands of Andrew Craig, North-East Valley; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at North Dunedin, on Friday, 19th day of January, 1866, at 12 o'clock noon.

by Thomas George, one dark Brindle Bull, no visible brand, owner unknown, for trespassing on Mr. Fulton's Run, for which damages are claimed £1; and in default of being released, the above Bull will be sold at the Public Pound, at West Taieri, on Friday, the 19th day of January, 1866, at 12 o'clock noon.

STOLEN or STRAYED from Kakanui on Saturday 2nd December, 1865, one bay Horse, branded 1 on the off shoulder, P on the near shoulder, 3 white legs and blaze down the face; one light dapple grey, no visible brands, 3 white points, liad rugs on when lost. £5 reward will be given if strayed, and £10 reward if stolen, on conviction of the thief, on application at the Kakanui Hotel, near Oamaru. 710—10s.
ADVERTISEMENT SHEET GRATIS.—A copy of the said Sheet is enclosed in the Evening Star and delivered with that Paper every Wednesday evening. Any person desirous of obtaining the Advertisement Sheet, will please leave his address at the Superintendent's Office. No charge will be made for the said Sheet, or for the delivery thereof. Any irregularity in the receipt of the Advertisement Sheet should be reported at once to the Provincial Secretary.
The Sheet may be seen at every School-house, Post Office, Police Station, Hotel, &c., throughout the Province.
