PROCLAMATION
Restoring to the Gold Fields of the Province of
Otago all the Lands which have been hitherto
reserved and withdrawn for the purposes of Sale,
with certain exceptions.

By His Honor THOMAS DICK, Esquire, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS certain Waste Lands of the Crown,
situate in the Gold Fields of the Province of
Otago, have been reserved and withdrawn for the
purposes of Sale, and it is expedient to restore the
whole of such Lands (save and except, as hereinafter
mentioned) to the Gold Fields of the said Province,
and to declare the Land so restored to be subject to
the provisions of the "Gold Fields Act, 1862," the
"Gold Fields Act Amendment Act, 1863," and
the "Gold Fields Acts Amendment Act, 1865";β€”
Now therefore I, THOMAS DICK, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and
declare that I do hereby rescind all Proclamations
heretofore made, whereby any Waste Lands of the
Crown, situate on any of the Gold Fields of the said
Province, have been reserved and withdrawn for the
purposes of sale, except in so far as the Lands men-
tioned or referred to in the Schedule hereto are affected
by any such Proclamation; and I do hereby constitute
and appoint all such Lands (except the Lands men-
tioned or referred to in the Schedule hereto are affected
by any such Proclamation; and I do hereby constitute
and appoint all such Lands (except the Lands men-
tioned or referred to in the Schedule hereto are affected
or excepted) to be a part or parts of the Gold Field or
Gold Fields from which such Lands have respectively
been withdrawn; and that the said Lands hereby
restored shall be subject to the provisions of the
"Gold Fields Act, 1862," the "Gold Fields Act
Amendment Act, 1863," and the "Gold Fields Act
Amendment Act, 1865." And I do hereby proclaim
and declare that the Lands mentioned in the Schedule
hereto are excepted from, and shall not be affected by
this Proclamation, and shall not be subject to the pro-
visions of the Acts above-mentioned.

Gabriel's District, and to the extent of thirty feet
on each side thereof.

PORT CHALMERS TOWN BOARD ELEC-
TION.β€”In pursuance of the provisions of the
"Port Chalmers and Invercargill Town Board Ordi-
nance, 1859," I, the Superintendent of the Province
of Otago, do hereby appoint Monday, the 8th day of
January next, at twelve o'clock noon, as the day and
time for the holding of an Election of Six Members
of the Town Board of Port Chalmers, in place of

GEORGE DODSON,
JAMES MATHESON,
JAMES BLAIN ROBERTSON,
DAVID MILLAR,

whose seats have become vacant: And I do appoint the
Town Hall at Port Chalmers as the place for the
holding of the said election: And I do appoint the said
time and place as the time and place for the assembling
of the persons entitled to vote at the said election: And
I do appoint Tuesday the 9th day of January next, as
the day on which the poll shall be taken, if a poll be
demanded, and that the said poll shall be taken at the
said Town Hall: And I do hereby appoint Mr.
WILLIAM REID, schoolmaster, Port Chalmers,
Returning Officer, to preside at the meeting held for
the said election.
