PROVINCE OF OTAGO
Purposes of the said Ordinance the said Province, except as is therein excepted, may, from time to time, be divided into districts; and until otherwise provided pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there shall be twenty-five districts, which shall be named and bounded as described in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed; and it is also in the said 12th section provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the General Road Board, from time to time to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts, by forming and naming new districts, or by dividing any district into two or more districts.
And whereas in the said Schedule the Hillend Road District therein named is described as comprising all that area bounded on the north-east by Tokomairiro District; on the south-east, by Kaitangata District; on the south-west, by the River Clutha; and on the north-west by the boundary of the Hundreds.
And whereas in the said Schedule the Kaitangata Road District therein named is described as comprising all that area bounded on the north-east by Tokomairiro District; on the south-east, by the watershed of the ranges leading from Mount Misery, over Stations I and J to Q; thence by an east and west line to the Matau River; on the south-west, by the Matau and Clutha Rivers; and on the north-west by the Trunk Road.
And whereas it is expedient to abolish the said Hillend Road District, and to alter and diminish the boundaries of the said Kaitangata Road District, and to form three new Road Districts, to be called respectively the Tuakitoto, North Molyneux, and Stony Creek Road Districts.
Now therefore I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Hillend Road District shall, from the day of the date hereof be abolished.
And I do also, with the like advice and consent, proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said Kaitangata Road District shall henceforth be altered and diminished, and that henceforth
Kaitangata Road District
shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by the watershed of the ranges from Two Stone Hill, and by block IV Tuakitoto Survey District; on the west by the Tuakitoto Lake, the Kaitangata River and Lake, and the Matau River; on the south by block II North Molyneux Survey District, and a direct line from the north-east corner of section 8 of the said block to Trig. Station Q; and on the south-east by the watershed of the ranges to Two Stone Hill.
And I do also, with the like advice and consent, proclaim and declare that from the day of the date hereof there shall be three new Road Districts, to be called respectively the Tuakitoto, North Molyneux, and Stony Creek Road Districts; and that
The Tuakitoto Road District
shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by the Southern Trunk Road; on the west by Lovell’s Creek and the Tuakitoto Lake; on the south by block III, South Tuakitoto Survey District and the Watershed, from thence to Two Stone Hill; on the south-east by a direct line from Two Stone Hill to the north-west corner of section 34, block II, Kaitangata Survey District, by sections 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, and 39, block II, and section 24, block I, Kaitangata Survey District; on the north-east by sections 2 and 11, blocks XXXVI, XXXVII, and XXXVIII, Tokomairiro Survey District; and that
The North Molyneux Road District
shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by section 4, block X, South Tuakitoto Survey District;
The Stony Creek Road District
shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by Lovell’s Creek; on the north-west by the north-west boundary of the North Tokomairiro Hundreds to Trig. Station D; on the west by the Southern Trunk Road; on the south by sections 14, 15, 16, 8, and 7, block I, Hillend Survey District, and section 3, block X, South Tuakitoto Survey District; and on the east by the Tuakitoto Lake and Lovell’s Creek.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this seventh day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.

NOTICE.—FERRIES.
By virtue of the power vested in me by the “Ferries Ordinance, 1856,” I hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, exempt from the payment of Ferry fares as respects all public Ferries, the following persons, in addition to those already exempted:
- Any person going to or returning from his or her usual place of religious worship on Sundays.
- Any person going to or returning from attending the funeral of any person.
- Any ordained Clergyman going to or returning from visiting any sick person belonging to his congregation, or any other Clerical duty.
- Any Volunteer in uniform and on duty, or going to or returning from duty.
- The Police, and persons or goods in their charge.

LAND TAX.
The Provincial Government of Otago has undertaken to repay the purchasers the tax of 2s. per acre, imposed by the “Otago Waste Lands Act, (No. 2), 1863,” in respect of all lands which may be purchased between the 4th day of January, 1865, and the 5th day of April, 1865.

Sale at noon of Monday, 20th February, 1865, at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, Dunedin, as provided by the “Jetties and Wharves Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1864.”
TOLLS, DUES, WHARFAGES, &c.,
from 1st March next until the end of 1865 of the above-mentioned Jetties will be let by public auction to the highest bidder, on his depositing one month’s rent at the time and place above-mentioned.
