AMENDED NOTICE.

JETTIES and WEIGHBRIDGE, at Jetty-street,

Dunedin.

JETTY and WEIGHBRIDGE, at Stuart-street, do.

JETTY at Rattray-street, do.

JETTY at Pelichet Bay, do.

JETTY at Port Chalmers.

JETTY at Moeraki.

Sale at noon of Monday, 20th February, 1865, at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, Dunedin, as provided by the “Jetties and Wharves Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1864.”

THE TOLLS, DUES, WHARFAGES, &c., from

1st March next until the end of 1865, of the above-mentioned Jetties will be let by public auction to the highest bidder, on his depositing one month’s rent at the time and place above-mentioned, and on his finding sufficient sureties for the payment of the money or rent monthly in advance during the lease, and for the due fulfilment of the other conditions.

CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO THE DUNEDIN JETTIES.

  1. All the Jetties in Dunedin will be let in one lot. Rattray-street Jetty will be handed over when finished to the lessee.

  2. The lessee must keep three lamps on each of Jetty-street new Jetty, and Rattray-street Jetty, same as at present on Jetty-street new Jetty; also one lamp on each of Pelichet Bay Jetty, Stuart-street Jetty, and Jetty-street old Jetty, the same as at present on the said old Jetty.

  3. The Lessee shall pay as required what the Harbour Master shall consider reasonable wages to a Night Watchman, who shall be appointed by and be under the direction of the Harbour Master.

  4. The Shed on the new Jetty must be at all times available for passengers’ and immigrants’ luggage. The charge for receiving, including delivery, of luggage and goods shall be at the rate of not more than 2s. per ton; and for storage at the rate of not more than 2s. per ton per week. No charge for storage shall be made for immigrants’ luggage for the first 48 hours. So much of the Shed as is not required for luggage may be used for all unclaimed goods found on the Jetty, and for goods requiring shelter for a short time only. The Harbour Master shall have an office in the Shed.

  5. Water not to exceed the rate of 2s. 6d. per ton; but the Government will not be in any way responsible for the continuance of the water supply.

  6. Weighbridge Dues shall be the same as at present, viz., 6d. for every cart, and 1s. for every waggon.

CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO PORT CHALMERS JETTY.

  1. The lessee of Port Chalmers Jetty must keep a lamp upon the Jetty, the same as at present.

CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL JETTIES.

  1. Jetties will be let, subject to all Acts, Ordinances, and Harbour Regulations in force for the time being, and the Harbour Master shall retain control over all Jetties, so far as these Acts, Ordinances, and Regulations will apply.

  2. The lessee must keep all the property under lease in thorough repair.

  3. No offices to be erected on any Jetty, except by permission of the Government, save sentry-box for the Night Watchman.

  4. All Jetties to be clean swept every Saturday afternoon.

  5. The Government shall be entitled to the free and sole use of any Jetty at any time, for the purpose of receiving distinguished visitors, or for any other public purpose.


The Road Districts shall comprise:

The COOMBE HAY ROAD DISTRICT

shall comprise all that area bounded on the north-west by sections 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, and 24, block I, Kaitangata Survey District; on the south-west by Rocky Valley Creek; on the south-east by the ocean; and on the north-east by the Tokomairiro river and sections 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, block XXVIII, Tokomairiro Survey District. And that

The SOUTHBRIDGE ROAD DISTRICT

shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by the Tokomairiro river and the southern trunk road; on the south-west by sections 3 and 10, blocks XXXVIII, XXXVII, and XXXVI, Tokomairiro Survey District, and section 24, block I, Kaitangata Survey District; on the south-east by sections 28, 15, 23, 22, 21, and 20, block I, Kaitangata Survey District; on the north-east by section 33, block I, Kaitangata Survey District, section 12, block XXVIII, sections 2 and 3, block XXXI, and section 8, block XXX, Tokomairiro Survey District.

The GLENORMISTON ROAD DISTRICT

shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by block V, Table Hill Survey District; on the north-west boundary of block III, Table Hill Survey District; on the south-west by section 5, block LI, sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, blocks L and XLVII, Tokomairiro Survey District; on the south-east by section 12, block XLII, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence on the south-east by the Tokomairiro river to block XXIV, Tokomairiro Survey District; on the south-east by blocks XXIV, XXII, and XV, Tokomairiro Survey District; on the east by sections 125 and 124, Tokomairiro Survey District, sections 56 and 1 and 2, block II, Table Hill Survey District; thence by the north branch of the Tokomairiro river to the northern boundary of block II, Table Hill Survey District.

The ABERCROMBIE ROAD DISTRICT

shall comprise all that area bounded on the north-west by the north-west boundary of blocks LI, LIV, and LIII, Tokomairiro Survey District; on the south-west by block X, and sections 10 and 7, block VII, Hill End Survey District, and sections 3 and 10, blocks XLV, XLIV, and XXXIX, Tokomairiro Survey District; on the south-east by the Southern Trunk Road; on the north-east by the Tokomairiro River, sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, blocks XLVII and L, and section 4, block LI, Tokomairiro Survey District.

The LOVELLSBROOK ROAD DISTRICT

shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by block X, Hill End Survey District; on the south-west and south by Lovell’s Creek; on the south-east by the Southern Trunk Road; on the north-east by sections 11 and 1, blocks XXXIX, XLIV, and XLV, and by block LIII, Tokomairiro Survey District.

LAND TAX.

The Provincial Government of Otago has undertaken to repay the purchasers the tax of 2s. per acre, imposed by the “Otago Waste Lands Act, (No. 2), 1863,” in respect of all lands which may be purchased between the 4th day of January, 1865, and the 5th day of April, 1865.
