VICTORIA, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, to ROBERT JOHN GAIRDNER, of Taieri Lake Station, in the Province of Otago, and Colony of New Zealand; and DAVID FORSYTH MAIN, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, and Colony of New Zealand, carrying on at Taieri Lake Station aforesaid, and also at Beaumont Station, on the River Molyneux, in the said Province, the business of Sheep Farmers and Runholders. Greeting:

WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand, in the Otago and Southland District, Province of Otago, between John Burgess, of Dunedin, in the said Province and Colony, Carrier, Plaintiff; and Alfred Goodwin, late of Dunedin, in the said Province and Colony, Carrier, Defendant:

And in order that the Plaintiff may proceed to the said action, we command you that you and each of you do retain and keep all and singular runs and other hereditaments, moneys and chattels, bills, bonds, and other property of whatsoever nature in the custody or under the control of you, or either of you, at the time of the service of this Writ belonging to the above-named Defendant, or to or in which such Defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled, or otherwise beneficially interested, and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons; and all debts of every kind due by you, or either of you, to such Defendant, although the same or part thereof may be payable only at a future day. And we further command you that you and each of you, in your own proper persons, be and appear before such Judge of our said Court as shall be sitting at Chambers, on Tuesday, the eighth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to be examined touching the premises, and to do and receive what shall then and there be considered of you in that behalf; and this you shall in no wise omit.

Witness: His Honor Christopher William Richmond, Esquire, Judge at Dunedin, of our said Supreme Court of New Zealand, this fourth day of August, A.D., one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.

WE the undersigned, Henry Bickley Hook, John Thompson, and Edward Rowland, trading under the style or firm of "Hook, Thompson & Co.," Lime Burners, Oamaru, have this 4th day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, in so far as it concerns the said Henry Bickley Hook, dissolved partnership, and that in future the business will be carried on by the said John Thompson and Edward Rowland, by whom all accounts owing to or by the said late firm will be received and paid.
