of enclosing the ground and of erecting headstones or other monuments thereon. A portion of ground of this class shall be staked off into lots of 9 feet by 4½ feet each, and having a frontage to a road. These lots shall be sold for £1 1s. each.

Class II., being ground of which the perpetual and exclusive right may be acquired, but the purchaser shall not have right to enclose the same, or to erect a monument thereon other than a flat stone laid horizontally, with inscription, or marked out by corner stones with initials or figures, provided that the horizontal or corner stones do not rise more than eighteen inches above the surface of the adjoining ground. Lots of this class, 9 feet by 4½ feet, shall be sold for 10s. 6d. each.

Class III., being a considerable portion of ground which has been set aside for the interment of such persons as are not purchasers of and have not acquired a right to private ground. Before the warrant for interment in this ground is issued, it will be necessary that the person having the management or control of said interment shall make a declaration before one of the Managers that he, or the parties whom he represents, are unable to pay for either Class I or II. On ground of this class no monuments or memorials whatever shall be allowed, but the rights and privileges of Class II. may be acquired at a subsequent period by purchase.
General Regulations.

All graves to be 5 feet deep, but in the event of the purchaser of private ground desiring a greater depth, an extra charge of 2s. 6d. shall be made for every foot more than 5 feet deep.

Any purchaser of private ground in which no interment shall have taken place, may transfer his or her interest in said ground to any other person upon payment being made to the Treasurer by the Managers appointed for the time being, of a fee of (5) five shillings for such transfer.

A plan of the Cemetery shall be prepared, showing particularly the lots so laid off, together with the numbers thereof.

The said Treasurer for the time being shall keep a Book, in which he shall enter from time to time the number of every lot sold, the name of the purchaser thereof, together with the date of the sale of the same, and shall keep a record of the Burials in the Cemetery.

The said Treasurer for the time being shall receive the purchase money for the sale of such lots, and shall give a receipt for the same, which receipt shall be held conclusive evidence of the purchase and selection of the lots mentioned therein.

In all cases of intended interment, the person having the management or control of the same shall apply to the Sexton (or the person advertised as having charge for the time being) for a warrant for such interment, which warrant the Sexton (or person in charge) is hereby authorised to grant upon payment to him of the following fees, viz.:-

The said warrant when received by the grave-digger shall be sufficient authority to him for such interment.

The Record Book shall be open for the inspection of the public on payment of a fee of one shilling for each inspection.

I HEREBY certify that Alexander John Ferguson, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, has this day submitted for my examination his Diploma from the Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, and also a Diploma from the same Board authorising him to practise in Midwifery; also a Diploma granted by the University of St. Andrew’s of his having graduated as a Doctor in Medicine; in accordance with the provisions of an Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, Session 1, No. 2, of 1849, intituled “An Ordinance to define the qualifications, and to provide for the remuneration in certain cases, of Medical Practitioners.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership between the undersigned John Matthews and Robert Reid, in the trade or business of Blacksmiths and Wheelwrights, at Oamaru, under the firm of “Matthews and Reid,” was this day dissolved by mutual consent. The business will in future be carried on by the said John Matthews on his separate account, and Mr. George Sumpter, of Thames Street, Oamaru, is hereby authorised to receive and pay all debts due to or owing by the said partnership in the regular course of trade.
