PROCLAMATION
Appointing two Registration Districts for the Province of Otago, under the provisions of the "Cattle Ordinance, 1864."
By His Honor JOHN HYDE HARRIS, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by Section 3 of the "Cattle Ordinance, 1864," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by Proclamation published in the Government Gazette of the said Province, to constitute and establish districts in the said Province for the purposes of the said Ordinance, and that every such district so proclaimed as aforesaid shall be called by a name, and shall be a Registrar’s District. Now therefore I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby constitute and establish in the said Province of Otago two Registrar’s Districts, for the purposes of the said "Cattle Ordinance, 1864," to be called respectively "The Eastern Cattle Registration District," and "The Western Cattle Registration District," which said Registrar’s Districts, so constituted and established, shall comprise all those lands hereinafter described, that is to say:—
The "Eastern Cattle Registration District" shall comprise all that area situate in the said Province of Otago, bounded towards the north by the Province of Canterbury, towards the east by the Province of Canterbury, towards the south by the Ocean, and towards the west by the Clutha River and the Wanaka Lake.
And the "Western Cattle Registration District" shall comprise all that area situate in the Province of Otago, bounded towards the north by the Province of Canterbury, towards the east by the "Eastern Cattle Registration District" and the Province of Southland, towards the south by the Ocean, and towards the west by the Ocean and the Province of Southland.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at (L.S.) Dunedin, this twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.

NOTICE
Of appointment of a Chief Registrar of Brands for the Province of Otago, under the "Cattle Ordinance, 1864."
His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed WILLIAM LOGIE, Esq., to be Chief Registrar of Brands for the Province of Otago, under the "Cattle Ordinance, 1864."
All official communications to be addressed to him at his office, Treasury, Dunedin.
