NOTICES
10. HAMILTON LICENSING DISTRICT shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise the town of Hamilton and all that area within the Mount Ida and Taieri Gold Fields north of the Rock and Pillar Mountain, which may be withdrawn from the operation of the Gold Fields Act.
11. LAWRENCE LICENSING DISTRICT shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise the town of Lawrence and all that area within the Tuapeka and Waitahuna Gold Fields, which has been or may be withdrawn from the operation of the Gold Fields Act.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

VACCINATION
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint the gentleman aftermentioned to be a Medical Officer under the “Vaccination Act, 1863,” and that he will attend as aforenamed for the performance of vaccination, and will also attend on the eighth day thereafter to inspect the result of the operation, as required by the said Act.
John Rutherford Ryley, Esq., M.D., will attend at his residence at Queenstown on the second Monday of each month, at noon.

PUBLIC POUND AT HAWKSBURY
NOTICE is hereby given, that in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have abolished the Public Pound, being the Stockyard of John Jones, Esquire, and situate between his dairy and the Waikouaiti River; and I do also give notice that in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the said Impounding Ordinance, I have appointed to be, and established as, a Public Pound, the Pound Yards situated on sections numbered 6, 7, and 8, Block XIII, in the Township of Hawksbury.

NOTICE is hereby given, that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have appointed James Purvis, of East Taieri, settler, to be Keeper of the East Taieri Public Pound, situate on part of section 1 of 4, block VIII, and part of sections 2 and 23, block VII, Dunedin and East Taieri District.

NOTICE is hereby given, that by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance 1862,” I have appointed Archibald Valentine of Waikouaiti, settler, to be Keeper of the Waikouaiti Public Pound, situate on Sections 6, 7, and 8, Block XIII, in the township of Hawksbury.

NOTICE TO MARINERS
ALTERATION OF TAIROA HEAD LIGHT.
The present temporary light on Tairoa Head will shortly be discontinued, and in its place a permanent light will be exhibited from the New Tower.
The new light, instead of being white as at present, will be a Fixed Dioptric Red Light, of the third order; and will be seen from about N.W. ¼ N., round by the North and East to about E. by S. ¼ S. (Bearings are magnetic from the Lighthouse.)
The light will be elevated about 196 feet above the level of the sea, and will be visible in clear weather about 20 nautical miles, allowing 15 feet for the height of the observer’s eye; and at lesser distances, according to the state of the atmosphere.
The Tower and Dwelling-houses will be whitewashed.
The old light is expected to be discontinued, and the new light exhibited, on or about the 2nd of January, 1865.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, that Charles Foppoli, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, has this day submitted for my examination his diplomas from the University of Pavia, in Lombardy, creating him Doctor of Medicine and Surgeon, in accordance with the provisions of an Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, Session I., No. 2, of 1849, intituled “An Ordinance to define the qualifications, and to provide for the remuneration in certain cases of Medical Practitioners.”

NOTICE
The co-partnership existing between the undersigned, carrying on business in Dunedin as Livery Stablekeepers, under the firm of “Brown and Colquhoun,” has been dissolved by mutual consent, as from the 28th day of November.
All debts due by the firm will be discharged by Mr. Edward Brown, who will continue the business and receive all moneys owing to the said firm.
