Tenders from parties wishing to lease the Government Shed at the Oamaru Beach, during the year 1865, will be received at the office of the Provincial Secretary, till noon of Monday, 11th December. For particulars apply to the Beach Master, at Oamaru, or to the Harbor Master, Port Chalmers.

Licensing Districts

  1. Port Chalmers Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area including the town of Port Chalmers, the Lower Harbour, West Survey District, the Sawyer’s Bay Survey District, Sections numbered 88 to 115 inclusive, North East Valley Survey District, and Blocks 4, 5, 6, and part of 7, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; bounded from the north-west corner of Block 4, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, in a southerly direction, by the western boundary line of the said Block 4, to the northern boundary line of Block 6, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, thence by the said northern boundary line of the said Block 6 and the northern boundary line of Block 7, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to the Main North Road, thence by the Main North Road to the northern boundary line of the North East Valley Survey District; thence in a westerly direction by the said northern boundary line of the North East Valley District to a road line between Sections 87 and 89 of the said District, thence by the said road line continued between Sections 86 and 88, North East Valley District to the northern boundary line of Block 9, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence in an easterly direction by the said northern boundary line of the said Block 9, to the north-west corner of Section 33, Sawyer’s Bay Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction by the boundary line of the said Sawyer’s Bay Survey District to Otago Harbour, and thence by high-water mark to the starting point.

  2. Taieri Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Tuapeka and Taieri Gold Field; towards the east and south by the Dunedin Licensing District; and towards the west by the Taieri River, the Waipori Lake, and Megas Burn; also, all that area within the Taieri Goldfield, and south of the Rock and Pillar Mountains, which has been withdrawn from the operation of the Gold Fields Act.

  3. Tokomairiro Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Tuapeka Gold Field; towards the east by the Taieri and Dunedin Licensing Districts; towards the south by the Ocean; and towards the west by the Clutha District.

  4. Clutha Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Nokomai and Mount Benger Gold Fields; towards the east by the Mount Benger and Tuapeka Gold Fields to Lovell’s Creek, thence by Lovell’s Creek, the Tuakitoto Lake, Kaitangata Lake and Creek, and the Clutha River, to the Ocean; towards the south by the Ocean; and towards the west by the Province of Southland.

  5. Hamilton Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise the town of Hamilton and all that area within the Mount Ida and Taieri Gold Fields north of the Rock and Pillar Mountain, which has been withdrawn from the operation of the Gold Fields Act.

  6. Lawrence Licensing District shall, for the purposes of the said Ordinance, comprise the town of Lawrence and all that area within the Tuapeka and Waitahuna Gold Fields, which has been withdrawn from the operation of the Gold Fields Act.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
