OAMARU TOWN BOARD ELECTION.

In pursuance of the powers vested in me in this behalf, I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, at twelve o'clock at noon, as the time for the holding of an election of one member of the Town Board of Oamaru, in the place of George Quarrie, resigned; and I do appoint the Court House, at Oamaru, as the place for the holding of the said election; and I do appoint the same time and place as the time and place for the assembling of persons entitled to vote at the said election; and I do appoint Friday, the twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, as the day upon which the Poll shall be taken at the said election, if a Poll be demanded, and that the said Court House be the place at which such Poll shall be taken; and I do appoint Thomas Windele Parker, Esq., Resident Magistrate of Oamaru, to preside at the meetings to be held for the said election.

NOTICE.

KAIKORAI ROAD DEVIATIONS.

WHEREAS it is intended to stop up those Roads and Portions of Roads situate and being in the Kaikorai District, and which are hereinafter described, and are delineated in the map or plan mentioned and referred to in the “Kaikorai District Road Lands Ordinance, 1864,” a copy of which map or plan is deposited at the Public School House in the said District;

Now, therefore, I, James Paterson, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the said “Kaikorai District Road Lands Ordinance, 1864,” do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of such roads, or portions of roads, or any of them, are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objections they may have to the stopping up of such roads, or portions of roads, and to leave such statement, addressed to me, at my office, in Dunedin, within sixty days from the date hereof, otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.

Description of the Roads and Portions of Roads in the Kaikorai District which the Superintendent is empowered to stop up.

32 chains in length, 60 links wide, from Cross Road between sections 38 and 39, block V, Lower Kaikorai to New District Road, on section 32, block V, Lower Kaikorai; bounded on the north-west by section 33, 45, 46, 47, 48, parts of 32 and 49; south-east by sections 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, and part of 32, block V, Lower Kaikorai, and by section 45, block VI, Town District.

48 chains in length, 60 links wide, from New District Road on section 32 to the Original Road line, at the boundary line between sections 22 and 23, block V, Lower Kaikorai; bounded on both sides by sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and part of 32, block V, Lower Kaikorai.

61 chains in length, 60 links wide, from Junction with New Road line on section 15, block V, Lower Kaikorai, to Junction with New Road line on section 3, block V, Lower Kaikorai; bounded on both sides by sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, block V, Lower Kaikorai.

12 chains in length, 60 links wide, from New Road line on section 3, block V, Lower Kaikorai to District Road.
