THE following Notice, issued in the “London Gazette,” of the 11th March, 1864, No. 22,881, is republished for general information.

The Queen has been pleased to approve of Mr. L. Bucholz as Consul in the New Zealand Islands for his Majesty the King of Denmark.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to grant Letters of Registration, dated the 19th day of Feb., 1864, under the "Patents Act, 1860," in favor of William Henry Buckland, of 5 Barge Yard, Bucklersbury, London, (who has previously obtained Letters Patent in the Country of Holland, dated the 15th day of December, 1861), for an invention intituled "Improved Preparation of Peat," with all the privileges thereto belonging.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to grant Letters of Registration, dated the 12th day of March, 1864, under the "Patents Act, 1860," in favor of Haydon Hezekiah Hall, of West Maitland, in the colony of New South Wales, engineer (who has previously obtained Letters Patent in the colony of Tasmania, dated the 20th day of July, 1863), for an invention intituled "Hall’s Pulverizer," with all the privileges thereto belonging.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to grant Letters of Registration, dated the 12th day of March, 1864, under the "Patents Act, 1860," in favor of Leopold Villian, of Melbourne, Victoria, civil engineer, (who has previously obtained Letters Patent in the colony of Victoria, dated the 10th day of October, 1863), for an invention for Digging, Sluicing, and Blasting underwater without communication from above, the bottom of seas, lakes, or rivers, &c., with all the privileges thereto belonging.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to grant Letters of Registration, dated the 17th day of May, 1864, under the "Patents Act, 1860," in favor of Philip William Phillips and John Samuel Eve, both of Melbourne, in the colony of Victoria, gentlemen (who have previously obtained Letters Patent in the Colony of Victoria, dated the 29th day of January, 1864) for an invention intituled "Improvements in Railways or Tramways, &c.," with all the privileges thereto belonging.
