PROCLAMATION.
Reserving and withdrawing for the purposes of Sale the Township of Lawrence, Tuapeka, in the Province of Otago.
By the Honorable John Hyde Harris,
Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS it is expedient that the Lands hereinafter described should be reserved and withdrawn for the purposes of Sale: Now, therefore, I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the said Province, by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to and vested in me in this behalf, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that I do reserve and withdraw for the purposes of Sale the Lands hereinafter described, that is to say, all that parcel of Land known as the
TOWNSHIP OF LAWRENCE,
situate in the South-Eastern District of the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement Six hundred and six acres, more or less, bounded towards the north by Crown Lands seven thousand four hundred and thirty-one links, towards the east by Crown Lands six thousand nine hundred and thirteen links, towards the south by Crown Lands five thousand nine hundred and forty-five links; also, five hundred links towards the south-west by Crown Lands four thousand links; also, two thousand links, and towards the north-west by Crown Lands five hundred links; also, three thousand six hundred and seventy links, and intersected by the Tuapeka and Weatherstone’s Creeks; all which said Lands are contained within and known as the Township of Lawrence, and are more particularly delineated on the Record Map of the said Township, deposited at the Office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

OAMARU TOWN BOARD ELECTION.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in me in this behalf, I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint Thursday, the fourteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, at twelve o’clock at noon, as the time for the holding of an election of one member of the Town Board of Oamaru, in the place of George Quarrie, resigned; and I do appoint the Court House at Oamaru as the place for the holding of the said election; and I do appoint the same time and place as the time and place for the assembling of persons entitled to vote at the said election; and I do appoint Friday, the fifteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, as the day upon which the Poll shall be taken at the said election, if a Poll be demanded, and that the said Courthouse be the place at which such Poll shall be taken; and I do appoint Thomas Windle Parker, Esq., Resident Magistrate of Oamaru, to preside at the meetings to be held for the said election.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint John Duncan Niven, Esq., M.D., to be Health Officer for the Port of Otago. Appointment to date from 12th Jan., last.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him, he has appointed Francis Porter, a member of the Otago Police Force, to be an Inspector of Slaughter-houses and of Cattle intended for Slaughter within the Dunedin Slaughter-house District, vice Otto Charles Oscar Paschen, removed.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint Patrick O’Neil, a member of the Otago Police Force, to be Gaoler of the Public Gaol, situate at Waikouaiti, in the said Province; and Samuel Porter, a member of the Otago Police Force, to be Gaoler of the Public Gaol, situate at Oamaru, in the said Province.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Provincial Storekeeper, until noon of Friday, the 1st July, for supplying the Dunedin Hospital with Bread, at per 4-lb. loaf, for the period ending 31st December, 1864.
