HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him, he has appointed
ALEXANDER BRUCE CAMERON,
a member of the Police Force, to be an Inspector of Slaughter-houses and of Cattle intended for slaughter, within the Oamaru Slaughter-house District, at the township of Clyde on the Dunstan Gold-field, (vice Porter transferred).

IT is hereby notified that a writ issued for the election of a person to serve as member in the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago for the Tokomairiro Electoral District has been returned with a certificate to the effect that
HENRY CLARK, Esq.,
freeholder, Tokomairiro, has been duly elected.

NOTICE is hereby given that I have appointed
RICHARD CLAYTON
to be a Sub-Inspector of Sheep for the Province of Otago, to act for Edward Hassell during his leave of absence.

KEROSENE AND PARAFFINE WAREHOUSES.—The Government is prepared to approve of Warehouses or places of security conveniently situated for the City of Dunedin, and for other towns of the Province for storing the above-mentioned Oils. Parties in possession of suitable premises for that purpose are requested to communicate in writing to me, on or before noon of Tuesday, 28th June current, as respects the City of Dunedin; and as soon thereafter as possible as respects the other towns of the Province—giving a description of the buildings, how far situated from other buildings, the rates proposed to be charged for storing the said oils, with any other information deemed useful.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, as undermentioned, until noon of Monday, 27th June, for the supply and delivery of 200 cubic yards of road metal, for road from Dunedin to Portobello, between Princes-street and Sand pit at Goat hill.
Specification may be seen and forms of Tender obtained at the Road Engineer’s Office, Dunedin.
