H IS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to make the following appointments:—
Andrew Alexander Weatherly, Esq., Clerk of Courts to be also Mining Registrar and Gold Receiver, at Alexandra: appointment to date from February 27th, 1864.
Henry Clifford Bate, Esq., to be Assistant Mining Surveyor, at Clyde: appointment to date from March 12th, 1864.
Borthwick Robert Baird, Esq., Inspector of Licenses, to be Mining Registrar and Gold Receiver, at Mount Ida: appointment to date from May 1st, 1864.
Henry Stratford, Esq., Clerk of Courts, also to be Mining Registrar and Gold Receiver, at Clyde: appointment to date from April 18th, 1864.
William Montgomery Orr, Esq., Clerk of Courts, to be also Mining Registrar and Gold Receiver, at Hamilton’s: appointment to date from May 1st, 1864.

ROAD: SADDLE HILL TO WEST TAIERI.
T ENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary of Public Works until noon of Monday, the 13th June, for Cartage of One Thousand Cubic Yards of Road Metal between Saddle Hill Toll and the end of the present Metal on the Road to the West Taieri.
Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Road Engineer, on and after Wednesday, the 8th June.
The Government do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender.
