NOTICE.

Depasturing Leases of Land near the Tuapeka Goldfield.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Honor the Superintendent has directed that the blocks of land, hereinafter mentioned, and situate in the neighbourhood of the Tuapeka Goldfield, shall be let on lease for depasturing purposes:

The blocks of land are as follows:

Block 1, containing about 7200 acres.

,, 3, ,, 13800 ,,
,, 3A, ,, 4200 ,,
,, 4, ,, 8000 ,,

The leases will be for a term of one year and so on from year to year, but subject to a condition for the determination thereof.

Full particulars of the boundaries and situation of the lands, and of the terms and conditions on which they will be let, may be obtained at this office.

The Leases will be disposed of to the highest bidder at a public auction, to be held by Messrs. Gillies and Street, at their auction rooms, Dunedin, on the 5th day of April next, at 12 o’clock.

The conditions of sale may be obtained at this office, and from the auctioneer at their auction room.

PUBLIC WORKS.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary of Public Works, till noon of the following Mondays:

7th March, for cutting approach on west side of Bridge at West or Upper Taieri Ferry.

The District Engineer will attend at the bridge on Friday first, the 4th March, from Eleven a.m. till Two p.m., to point out the work to intending contractors.

Specifications to be seen, and forms of tender to be obtained, at the Road Engineer’s Office, Dunedin, on and after Wednesday, the 2nd March.

14th March, for the formation of about six furlongs of the Northern Trunk Road, extending from the junction of the new road from Waikouaiti River to near the southern end of the metalled portion of the North Trunk Road at Hawkesbury.

Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Road Engineer’s Office, Dunedin, on and after Monday, the 7th March.

28th March, for additions to Port Chalmers School.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, till Saturday, the 19th March, and after that date at the school-house, Port Chalmers.

for the Gaol, Hospital, Lunatic Asylum, &c., in Dunedin, during the year 1864.

Information to be obtained, and sealed tenders lodged, at the Provincial Storekeeper’s Office, at or before noon of Tuesday, 8th inst.

TO CONTRACTORS.

TWO LIGHTHOUSES ON THE COAST OF NEW ZEALAND.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Marine Board, Custom House, Port Chalmers, until noon, Tuesday, 22nd March, 1864, for Lighthouse Towers and Dwelling Houses to be erected on Dog Island, Foveaux Straits, and on Taiaroa Head, Otago Harbor.

Plans and Specifications to be seen at the Marine Board Office, Port Chalmers, after March 1st.

The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any offer.

Plans and Specifications are in the course of preparation for a Lighthouse, &c., on Cape Saunders, which will shortly be proceeded with.

APPOINTMENTS TO BE MADE.

ASSISTANT Engineer, accustomed to Railway Surveying and levelling. Apply at the office of the Road Engineer.

ENGINEERING Draughtsman. Apply as above.

TWO Temporary Draughtsman for the Road Department. Apply as above, on Friday 4th March, from 10 to noon.

AN Inspector, who will also act as foreman of Masons in the Dunstan District. For qualifications and rate of salary, apply at Road Office.

Applications to be lodged at the office of the Secretary of Public Works, on or before Monday the 7th March.

HARBOR RECLAIMED LANDS.

THE lease of these Lands will be submitted for sale by public auction on the ground, on Wednesday the 9th day of March instant, at 1 p.m., Messrs. Gillies and Street, auctioneers.

There are 14 Sections of a uniform depth of 81 feet, each having frontages to Crawford and Bond streets.

3 sections have frontages of 27 ft. 6 in. to each street.

2 ,, ,, ,, 41 ft. ,,

The Lease will be for 99 years, and the annual ground rent £1 per foot on each frontage.

The bonus may be arranged by deferred payments. Particulars to be had from the auctioneers, in whose office the plan is exhibited, and from whom all further particulars may be obtained.

GREEN ISLAND DISTRICT ROAD RATE.

THE General Road Board having issued a Receipt for the payment of the District Road Rate recently authorised to be levied over the Green Island District to the undersigned collector of the said rate, Notice is hereby given to the Ratepayers under the Road Ordinance, 1856, within the said Green Island District, that the said rate is now payable to the undersigned, at his house, and that payment thereof must be made within thirty days from the date hereof, under penalty in case of failure so to pay of proceedings being taken for recovery under said Ordinance.
