THE following Commission is re-published, the name of one of the gentlemen having been accidentally omitted in the gazette as published in the Gazette of 23rd December, 1863:—
ROADS COMMISSION.
To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting.
WHEREAS the rapid increase of population in the interior of the Province of Otago has made it necessary that there should be provided more perfect means of communication than now exist between the populous parts of the Province and the Port of Otago, and between the various settled Districts of the said Province: And whereas it has appeared expedient that inquiry should be made as to what descriptions of roads are the best adapted to the circumstances of this Province, having regard to the locality thereof.
Now, therefore, I, John Hyde Harris, as Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby nominate and appoint:
John Turnbull Thomson, Esq., C.E., Chief Surveyor
Frederick Joseph Moss, Esq., M.P.C.
John Carvill, Esq., M.P.C.
Mathew Holmes, Esq., J.P.
Arthur John Burns, Esq., M.P.C.
Thomas Taylor, Esq.
John Hardy, Esq., M.P.C.,
to be Commissioners to inquire and report to me what descriptions of roads are the best adapted to the circumstances of this Province, having regard to the locality thereof.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION, 1865.
THE Gentlemen forming the Local Committee for the Province of Otago, are requested to attend a Meeting at the Dunedin Athenaeum, at three o’clock p.m., on Tuesday, the 5th of January, 1864, for the purpose of electing a Chairman and other preliminary business.
