STEAM COASTAL SERVICE,

PROVINCE OF OTAGO.

TENDERS will be received at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 16th October 1863, from parties willing to run a Steamer between Dunedin and Molyneux Township, and Waikava Harbor, during the year 1864.

Tenders must describe the Steamer offered for the service, particularly her sleeping accommodation for Cabin and Steerage Passengers.

The days and hours of sailing, and all details, will, from time to time, be subject to the approval of the Provincial Government.

Weather permitting, one trip per week must be made to the Molyneux, and a monthly trip to the Waikava.

Rates to and from the Molyneux not to exceed the following:—

Coal, 20s. per ton.
Goods, 30s. to be taken from ship’s tackle at Molyneux.
Wool, 12s. 6d. per bale, to be brought alongside.
Grain, 6d. per bushel, do.
Passage—Saloon, 50s., Steerage, 30s.

Rates to and from Waikava not to exceed the following:—

Goods, 40s. per ton, to be taken from ship’s tackle at Waikava.
Wool, 16s. per bale, to be brought alongside.
Timber, 40s. per ton, do.
Passage—Saloon, 60s., Steerage, 40s.
Meals to be provided for Passengers by the Steamer free of charge.

A Steamer from 100 to 150 tons, horse-power 60 to 100, draft of water 5 feet, would suit the trade.

The Government will not be in any way bound to accept the lowest or any of the tenders.

STATIONERY.

TENDERS will be received at the Provincial Secretary’s office, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 29th September current, from parties willing to supply the Provincial Government with certain articles of Stationery during the three months ending 31st December, 1863. A specification may be obtained on application at the Provincial Secretary’s office.

PRINTING OF POLICE GAZETTE.

TENDERS are invited for Printing the Otago Police Gazette, at per page, including paper, and (when required) stitching, from the date of accepting the Tender—or any other date fixed by the Government—until 31st December, 1864. Particulars to be obtained at the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dunedin. Tenders to be lodged by noon of 29th September, 1863.

WOOLSHED AT OAMARU.

TENDERS will be received at the Provincial Secretary’s office, Dunedin, until noon of 6th October, 1863, from parties willing to rent the said Shed for six months from the date of the receipt of the Tender; the tenant must take the premises as they are, and leave the same in as good a state of repair as when he enters.

The rent to be payable as may be determined on by the Government.

by the said Alexander Sinclair Murray and Peleg Whitford Jackson to the Provincial Treasurer of the said Province, for and on behalf of the Government thereof (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged); the said Superintendent doth hereby, for himself and his successors in office, covenant and agree with the said Alexander Sinclair Murray and Peleg Whitford Jackson, their heirs, executors, and administrators, that the time within which the said Alexander Sinclair Murray and Peleg Whitford Jackson shall be bound to place the said steamer on the said river, and to commence to ply thereon with the same, shall be extended to the first day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three; and further, that the said term of two years mentioned in the within written agreement shall commence and be computed from the said first day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three. In witness whereof, the said John Hyde Harris hath hereto set his hand, and caused the public seal of the said Province to be affixed hereto.
