INSPECTOR OF SLAUGHTER HOUSES APPOINTED.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified, that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him, he has appointed
JOHN EMERSON,
a member of the Police Force of the Province of Otago, to be an Inspector of Slaughter Houses, and of Cattle intended for Slaughter, within the Slaughter House District of Tuapeka.

DAIRY FARM ON THE DIGGINGS

PARTIES desirous of renting the Hut, known as Robertson’s Hut, on the road to Tuapeka, with five acres of land attached, are requested to send in their tenders to this Office, before noon on Tuesday, the fourth day of August, 1863, stating what annual rent they will give. The Government to have power to re-enter at any time on giving three months notice, and compensation for authorised Buildings and Fencing. The amount of compensation to be fixed by arbitration.
