HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that he has made the following appointments:—
Arthur Davies Harvey,
to be Gold Receiver and Mining Registrar at Waitahuna.
Thomas De Lacey,
to be Assistant to Gold Receiver at Dunedin.
David Hood,
to be Inspector of Licenses at Mount Benger.
Andrew Alexander Weatherly,
to be Clerk to the Warden’s Court, and Clerk to the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Manuherikia.
Andrew Alexander Weatherly,
to be Mining Registrar at Manuherikia.
Ernest Adolphus Van,
to be Bailiff of Warden’s Court, and to the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Manuherikia.

PROCLAMATION
Admitting Cattle into the Province of Otago from Queensland, Tasmania, and Twofold Bay, in New South Wales.
By the Honorable John Hyde Harris, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 5th day of June, 1862, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the powers delegated to him under the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” did proclaim and declare that after the date of the said Proclamation all Districts, Places, and Ports wheresoever, out of the main land of the North and Middle Islands of New Zealand, should be deemed to be Infected Districts within the meaning and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas the Governor in Council hath by Warrant under his hand delegated to me, John Hyde Harris, so long as I shall hold the office of Superintendent of the Province of Otago, the several powers vested in the Governor by the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 10th Sections of the said Act, subject to be rescinded as in the said Act is provided, and subject to the Regulations issued by the Governor in Council on the 1st day of October, 1861; And whereas by the 4th of the said Regulations it is provided that in the exercise of the powers delegated under the said Act;
And whereas by the 9th Section of the said Act the Superintendent of any Province may from time to time, by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the Province, rescind any Proclamation of an Infected District, wholly or as to any part thereof:
Now therefore I, the said John Hyde Harris, by virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that I do hereby rescind the aforesaid Proclamation of the 5th day of June, 1862, so far as the same relates to the Colony of Queensland, the Colony of Tasmania, and the Port and District of Twofold Bay, in the Colony of New South Wales, and I do hereby declare that the said Districts shall not, from the date hereof until further notice, be deemed to be Infected Districts within the meaning and for the purposes of the abovementioned Act:
And I do hereby further declare that it shall be lawful for me, the said Superintendent, to allow Cattle to be landed from vessels from the Chatham Islands, subject to such conditions and restrictions as I may deem expedient and the circumstances of any case may require.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this sixth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

VICTORIA by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith and so forth to Barnett BEBARFALD of Dunedin in the Province of Otago Merchant GREETING:
WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand Otago and Southland District between Alfred Cleve Daniel Herman Cleve and Sali Cleve trading under the style or firm of Cleve and Company of Dunedin aforesaid Merchants plaintiffs and Nathan Jacob Levy late of Port Chalmers in the Province of Otago aforesaid Storekeeper defendant and in order that the plaintiffs may proceed in their action We command you that you do retain and keep all and singular lands hereditaments monies and chattels bills bonds and other property of whatsoever nature at in the custody or under the control of you the time of the service of this Writ belonging
