INSPECTORS OF SLAUGHTER-HOUSES APPOINTED.

Superintendent’s Office,
Dunedin, 1st June, 1863.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him, he has appointed the several members of the Police Force of the Province of Otago, hereinafter named, to be Inspectors of Slaughter-Houses and of Cattle intended for Slaughter, within the respective Slaughter-House Districts for which they are appointed, namely:

  • Dunedin District, Port Chalmers Station,
    Frederick Mallard.

  • Tokomairire District, Woolhed Station,
    Elijah Tresilian.

  • Alex. Willis,
    Acting Provincial Secretary.

IMPOUNDED

On the 16th day of May, 1863, by William Smith, Abbotsford House, a dark grey horse, with white lead, supposed to belong to G. Henderson’s premises, for trespassing the impounder’s premises, for which the sum of ten shillings is claimed for damages, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the South Public Pound, on the 17th day of June, 1863, at 12 o’clock noon.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that Jacob

B. Selig Caro, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, has this day submitted for my examination a Diploma from the Melbourne University, creating him a Doctor of Medicine, in accordance with the provisions of any Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, Session I, No. 5 of 1849, entitled “An Ordinance to define the qualifications, and to provide for the examination in certain cases of Medical Practitioners.”

Dated at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Dunedin, this first day of June, 1863.
