Provincial Secretary’s Office,

Dunedin, 9th April, 1863.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Provincial Secretary until noon of Tuesday, 21st April current, from parties willing to supply the Government for the use of the Gaol or otherwise, until 31st December next, with the following articles, in such quantities, and at such times, as may be required.

For further particulars apply to the Gaoler, Dunedin.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Provincial Secretary until 12 o’clock noon of Tuesday, 21st April, 1863, for the supply, at Port Chalmers, of one hundred and twenty cubic yards of Road Metal.

Specification may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Road Engineer’s office, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Port Chalmers.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Provincial Secretary until 12 o’clock noon of Tuesday, 28th April, for the supply, at Hawksbury, of about five hundred cubic yards of Road Metal.

Specification may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Road Engineer’s office, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Hawksbury.

NORTH-EAST HARBOUR ROAD DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that the first meeting of the District Board of Road Trustees lately elected for the North-East Harbour District, will be held at the School-house, in said District, upon Thursday, the 30th day of April, 1863, at one o’clock, p.m.

SOME misunderstanding having arisen respecting the notification which appeared in Gazette No. 236, to the effect that John Turnbull Thomson, Esq., had been appointed, pro. tem., Government Engineer, and also Engineer of Roads and Bridges, it is hereby notified that the said appointment was rendered necessary in order that Mr. Thomson might carry out certain works of which he had the charge prior to the appointment of Mr. Swayne and Mr. Howden; and Mr. Thomson’s appointment does not in any way affect the position of these gentlemen.
