DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,

That the partnership between the undersigned Oliver Cooper and Cornelius John Paine, in the trade or business of Butchers, carried on at Port Chalmers, under the firm of Cooper and Paine, was this day dissolved by mutual consent.

Witness our hands this 14th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Provincial Legislature of the Province of Otago, intituled, an Ordinance for Promoting the Improvement of the City of Dunedin, it is among other things enacted:

Section 4 β€” Immediately after the passing of this Ordinance, the Board shall divide the said City into Wards or Districts, and fix and determine the boundaries thereof; and it shall be lawful for the Board to alter, vary, add to, or diminish the boundaries and extent of the said Wards, or any of them, and to vary the number of the said Wards, in such manner as the state of the population thereof, or other circumstances, shall appear to them from time to time to require; and the boundaries of the Wards shall run along the middle of the streets by which they are declared to be bounded, except when the contrary is specially mentioned: Provided always that such Wards, and boundaries thereof, and any alterations thereon, shall be intimated by advertisement, to be made in the Provincial Government Gazette and in newspapers published in Dunedin.

And Whereas the Town Board of Dunedin have for the purposes of the said recited Ordinance, determined to divide the City of Dunedin into four Wards, to be called respectively:

  • South or No. 1 Ward,
  • High or No. 2 Ward,
  • Bell or No. 3 Ward,
  • Leith or No. 4 Ward,

to be bounded as aftermentioned.

SOUTH WARD.

This Ward comprises all that portion of the City of Dunedin and Town Belt, bounded towards the north and north north-west by Jetty and Stafford-streets, and towards the south-west and south south-west by suburban lands.

HIGH WARD.

This Ward comprises all that portion of the City of Dunedin and Town Belt, bounded towards the north and north-east by Bowling-street to its junction with York Place, thence by York Place to northern Cemetery, thence by a line bearing west north-west to suburban lands, on the west south-west by suburban lands, and on the south south-west and south by South Ward.

BELL WARD.

This Ward comprises all that portion of the City of Dunedin and Town Belt, bounded towards the north north-east by Frederick-street, on the east north-east by Pitt-street, on the east south-east by Heriot Row to Section No. 51, Block 19, thence by a line bearing west north-west to suburban land towards the south-west and south south-west by High Ward.

LEITH WARD.

This Ward comprises all that portion of the City of Dunedin and Town Belt to the northward of Bell Ward.
