POMAHAKA DISTRICT.

BLOCKS 1, 2, AND 3.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Blocks 1, 2, and 3, of the Pomahaka District, will be open for Application on MONDAY, the 15th day of September, and the Applications decided on THURSDAY, the 25th day of September, 1862.

The land comprised within these three Blocks is situate between the Pomahaka and the Clutha, and is about 20 miles north from the Clutha Ferry. There is a good supply of Bush on the wooded islands of the Clutha, which are in the immediate neighbourhood. There are about 18,000 acres in the three Blocks.

APPLICATIONS

Applications will be received at the Provincial Engineer’s Office, Dunedin, until the 29th instant, from persons competent to fill the office of District Road Inspector; salary, £250, with an allowance of £50 per annum for horse keep.

August 22nd, 1862.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of His Honor the Superintendent, until 4 pm on Friday, the 5th of September, for the widening and improvements of the Road between Port Chalmers and the North Trunk Road. Plans, Sections, and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer.—By order, JOHN LOGAN, Clerk to Superintendent.

SPECIAL MEETING of the Education Board

A Special Meeting of the Education Board will be held at the Government Offices, Dunedin, upon THURSDAY, the 28th day of August, 1862, at 12 o’clock, noon, for the despatch of business.

GENERAL BOARD OF ROAD TRUSTEES

MEETINGS OF DISTRICT BOARDS OF ROAD TRUSTEES.

The first Meetings of the District Boards of Road Trustees, lately elected for the undermentioned Districts, are hereby appointed to be held at the time and places following; said Trustees having failed to meet as formerly advertised.

CAVERSHAM DISTRICT.

At the School-house, Caversham, on Friday the 29th day of August, 1862, at 7 o’clock p.m.

EAST TAERI DISTRICT.
At the School-house upon Wednesday, the 27th day of August, 1862, at half-past 6 o’clock p.m.

WINE AND BEER LICENSES AND BOTTLE LICENSES.

All the Licenses now in force on the Gold Fields, for the sale of Spirits, by Wholesale and Retail, expire upon the 30th day of September, 1862. All holders of these licenses, who are desirous of having the same renewed, are requested to make application in writing to His Honor the Superintendent, on or before Friday, the 19th day of September next. No Bottle Licenses are now issued for the Gold Fields.

All Wine and Beer Licenses presently in force expire upon the 30th day of September next. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Special Meeting of the Executive Council will be held in the Government Offices, on Tuesday, the twenty-third day of September, at 10 o’clock a.m., to consider applications for renewal of any of the aforesaid Licenses. Applications for renewal must be lodged at the Superintendent’s Office, Dunedin, on or before Friday, the 19th day of September.
