to be a Visiting Justice of the Gaol at Dunedin, under the Ordinance passed by the Lieutenant-Governor of New Zealand, and the Legislative Council thereof, Session VII, No 7.

OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND PUBLIC DEBT.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that

THOMAS BANNATYNE GILLIES, Esquire,

and

FRANCIS DILLON BELL, Esquire,

have been duly appointed Arbitrators under the Otago and Southland Public Debts Appointment Act, 1861, and that

EDWARD WILLIAM STAFFORD, Esquire,

has been appointed the Umpire under the said Act; and that the said Arbitrators will hold open sittings at the Court-House, Dunedin, on THURSDAY, the 10th of April, and following days, for the purposes of the Arbitration.

THE SUPERINTENDENT desires to make known that the following have been recommended as affording assistance to Justices of the Peace in the discharge of their duties:

  2. Jervis’ Acts (with Notes), by Glen
  3. Colonial Acts and Provincial Ordinances, the former of which are being epitomized
  4. Roscoe’s Criminal Evidence
  5. Oke’s Magisterial Synopsis
  6. Oke’s Formulist.
