I HEREBY CERTIFY, that
ADOLPH WEBER,
of the Tokomairiro District, in the Province
Of Otago,
Has THIS DAY submitted for my examina-
tion, his DIPLOMA from the "Royal College
of Surgeons of England," as also a DIPLOMA
from a German University, creating him a
DOCTOR OF MEDICINE, and Surgery, and
Midwifery, in accordance with the Provisions
of an Ordinance, passed by the Legislative
Council of New Munster, Session 1, No. 2, of
1849, intituled "An Ordinance to define the
qualifications, and to provide for the remune-
ration in certain cases of Medical Practition-
ers."

GENERAL BOARD OF ROAD
TRUSTEES.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance
with clause 39 of the "Roads Ordinance,
1856," that the Representatives from the Toko-
mairiro District Road Board have given notice of
their intention to propose, at a future meeting of
the General Board, that certain Road Lines in
said district be shut up, and exchanged for other
Rights of Way, as proposed by the following
Resolutions of the Tokomairiro District Road
Board :—

January 16, 1861.—Resolved, that a Road be
laid off as a branch road, from the main road at
the west bridge over the Tokomairiro river,
through sections 194, 195, 196, and through part
of 197, at a point 15 chains or thereabout from
the river bank, from thence in a straight line or
nearly so through sections 198, 199, 200, 201,
202, 203, and 204, Block XXV., past Mr. James
Smith's station to the bridge over the Washpool
creek; thence through portions of Blocks
XLVIII., XLIX., L., LIV., LV., along the line
now partially made and used as a dray track as
far as the outside of the survey towards Mount
Stuart, at Roxburgh Station.

"That the road line extending from section
197 through 198 to 204 inclusive, and lying be-
tween Blocks XXV. and XXVI. be closed and
given to the proprietors of the said sections : and
also that such parts of the River Side Road
through the above-named sections, and through
194, 195, 196, and 197, as will not be required for
the road line above proposed to be opened, shall
be closed, and conveyed to the proprietors of the
said sections as compensation in full for the new
line above described.

"That the River side Road through Sections
in Blocks XLVIII., XLIX., L., LIV., and LV.,
where any such road has been reserved, and
where the same will not be required for the above
proposed new line of road, be closed, and con-
veyed to the proprietors of the said sections, as
compensation in full for the new line of road be-
fore described.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Militia Act, 1858," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Governor in Council
from time to time to constitute throughout
the Colony or in any part thereof, Militia
Districts, and such Districts from time to time
to vary, and to designate the Militia of any
such District by the name of a Regiment,
Battalion, Corps, or Company :—

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Gover-
nor, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, in exercise of the
above recited power, doth by this present
Order, constitute the following several Militia
Districts, to be called and known by the
names following, namely :—


Dunedin,
Invercargill,

  1. Of the Dunedin District, the circum-
    ference of a circle, whereof the radius extends
    twenty miles from the present Police Office in
    the Town of Dunedin.

  2. Of the Invercargill District, the circum-
    ference of a circle, whereof the radius extends
    thirty miles from the present Police Office at
    Invercargill.

And doth designate the Militia within each
of the said Districts by the name of a Bat-
talion.
