PROCLAMATION
By His Honor JAMES MACANDREW,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed
by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the "Roads Ordinance, 1856," it is among other things enacted, Section 2,
That it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the
General Board of Road Trustees, from
time to time, to proclaim in the Government Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish,
or enlarge, the boundaries of any or all of
the Districts named in the Schedule to the
said Ordinance, and to increase the number
of Districts by forming and naming new
Districts : And whereas it is necessary to
divide the Tokomairiro District as described
in Proclamation dated 7th November,
1860, and published in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 126, into two Districts, as aftermentioned.
NOW THEREFORE I, the said Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the
General Board of Road Trustees, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the said Tokomairiro District is hereby divided into two
Districts, named and bounded as follows:—
EAST TOKOMAIRIRO DISTRICT
Comprises all that area bounded on the
North and West by the Trunk Road and
Waihola District; on the East by the
Watershed of the ranges from Gorge Hill
over Stations I and S to the source of Shag
Creek, then by Shag Creek to the Ocean;
on the South by the Ocean, Rocky Valley
Creek, and the Watershed over Mount
Misery, and Station H, to the Trunk Road.
WEST TOKOMAIRIRO DISTRICT
Comprises all that area bounded on the
North-east by Waihola District; on the
South-east by the Trunk Road; on the
South-west by the Watershed of the ranges
leading towards Mount Stuart; and on the
North-west by the Boundary of the Hundreds.
Given under my hand, and issued
under the Public Seal of the
(L.S.) Province of Otago, this 9th day
of February, One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-one.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, that
WILLIAM PANTON GRIGOR,
of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, has
this day submitted for my examination his
Diploma from the Royal College of
Surgeons, in Edinburgh, as also a certificate from the examiners of Surgeons'
Hall, Edinburgh, in accordance with the
provisions of an Ordinance passed by the
Legislative Council of New Munster,
Session 1, No. 2, 1849, intituled, "An
Ordinance to define the Qualifications and
to provide for the Remuneration of, in
certain cases, of Medical Practitioners."
Dated at the Resident Magistrates'
Court, at Dunedin, the 11th day of
February, 1861.
