APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE.
(SUPPLEMENTARY.)
In the Seventeenth year of the Reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria.

ANALYSIS.

- Sum Appropriated for Erection and Repair of Public Buildings and other purposes.

An Ordinance to Augment and Apportion a Grant in aid of the Repair of Roads and Bridges; and to authorise Expenditure for the Erection and Repair of Public Buildings and other purposes.
WHEREAS it is expedient to augment, as after-mentioned, the sum of £200 authorised to be applied to the improvement and repair of Roads and Bridges by the Appropriation Ordinance, Session I., No. 2, intituled “An Ordinance to appropriate the Revenue for the year ending 30th September, 1854,” and to apportion the whole equitably among the different localities within which contributions have been raised for said object, agreeably to the original intention in authorising said grant:
AND WHEREAS it is further expedient to provide suitable accommodations for the meetings of the Provincial Council, and for the conducting of the business of the Government and the safety of the Provincial Records; and also to provide for the repair of the Gaol in Dunedin; and for the foresaid purposes and the other purposes hereinafter mentioned, to appropriate certain sums out of the Provincial Revenue:
Be it enacted by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, as follows:

The sum of £200 authorised to be issued and applied towards the Repair of Roads by the before-recited Ordinance shall be augmented to £300, which sum of £300, under deduction of Ten pounds, as hereinafter stated, shall be applied, in so far as not already applied, in the proportions hereinafter specified, to the Repair of Roads and Bridges within, and leading to the localities respectively hereinafter also specified, in the manner which shall be considered most beneficial by the respective Local Bodies of Contributors, or such Committees as they respectively may appoint;—that is to say, the foresaid sum of £300 shall be apportioned as follows:—

For behoof of the object of the contributors for Roads within, or leading to, the North East Valley District, whose contributions amount to £28 4s., there shall be paid £27.................................. £27 0 0

For behoof of the object of the contributors for Roads within or leading to the Halfway Bush District, whose contributions amount to £21, there shall be paid £20.................................. 20 0 0

For behoof of the object of the contributors for the Road from Dunedin Jetty to Caversham, whose contributions amount to £46, there shall be paid £44.................................. 44 0 0
