Guidelines in Relation to Reviews of Local Authority Representation
On 9 June 2017 the Local Government Commission ("Commission") issued the sixth edition of its Guidelines to Assist Local Authorities in Undertaking Representation Reviews.
The guidelines have been issued under section 19ZI of the Local Electoral Act 2001.
They identify factors and considerations for local authorities to take into account in making determinations under any of the provisions of sections 19H to 19JB and Schedule 1A of the Local Electoral Act 2001.
The guidelines are available, free of charge, from the Local Government Commission, PO Box 5362, Wellington 6140, or may be downloaded from the Commission’s website, www.lgc.govt.nz, or may be inspected at the Commission’s offices at 147 Lambton Quay, Wellington.

Land Notices
Land Declared Road, Road Stopped, and Land Set Apart for the Functioning Indirectly of a Road (Segregation Strip)—Waikato Expressway, Cambridge, Waipa District
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Zak Sun, Land Information New Zealand:
- Pursuant to section 114, declares the land described in the First Schedule to this notice to be road which, pursuant to section 88 of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, becomes road, limited access road and State highway and shall remain vested in the Crown;
- Pursuant to section 114, declares the land described in the Second Schedule to this notice to be road which shall vest in the Waipa District Council;
- Pursuant to section 116, declares the parcels of road described in the Third Schedule to this notice to be stopped and, pursuant to section 52, set apart for the functioning indirectly of a road (segregation strip) and shall remain vested in the Crown; and
- Pursuant to section 52, declares the land in the Fourth Schedule to this notice to be set apart for the functioning indirectly of a road (segregation strip) and shall remain vested in the Crown
on the date of publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
