Tariff (World Trade Organization Information Technology Agreement) Amendment Order 2017

Notice is hereby given of the making of an order amending the Tariff of New Zealand, pursuant to section 9 of the Tariff Act 1988, to increase transparency of the tariff treatment of the goods covered by the World Trade Organization Information Technology Agreement.

Notice

Title of order—The order is the Tariff (World Trade Organization Information Technology Agreement) Amendment Order 2017.
Commencement—The order will come into force on 1 October 2017.
Effect of order—This order transfers the implementation of New Zealand’s tariff commitments under the World Trade Organization Information Technology Agreement from Part II to Part I of Tariff. Moving the goods directly into Part I of the Tariff will improve the transparency of covered goods, make it easier for importers to derive the benefits of the tariff concession, and increase the visibility of this Tariff treatment.
