This money must be held in the trust account to enable any victims of Melissa Brown to make claims against it.
Any person that has been a victim of Melissa Brown, in respect of an offence for which Melissa Brown was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the trust account on behalf of Melissa Brown.
Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the trust account.

Pursuant to section 68 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Lianne Audrey Dalziel, declare that a state of local emergency exists in Christchurch district owing to flooding throughout Christchurch City and Banks Peninsula.

The state of local emergency comes into force immediately on the making of this declaration, and expires seven days after the time and date on which it comes into force (unless extended or terminated at an earlier time).
