ii. are aged under 18 years on 1 July; and
c. the grandchildren of that person or those persons, who are aged under 18 years on 1 July, being the first day of the 12-month period, beginning on 1 July and ending on 30 June, that is stated in the licence.
family licence means a licence that entitles the holder and the holder’s spouse or partner and, if any member of the holder’s family is accompanied by the holder or the holder’s spouse or partner, the member of the holder’s family, to take trout within the Taupo District (except at the Tongariro National Trout Centre) during the 12-month period, beginning on 1 July and ending on 30 June, that is stated in the licence.
non-resident means a person who is neither a New Zealand citizen nor a permanent resident (as those terms are defined in section 4 of the Immigration Act 2009).
non-resident licence means a licence that entitles the holder to take trout within the Taupo District (except at the Tongariro National Trout Centre) during the 12-month period, beginning on 1 July and ending on 30 June, that is stated in the licence.
senior means a person who is aged 65 years or older on 1 July, being the first day of the 12-month period, beginning on 1 July and ending on 30 June, that is stated in the licence.
supervisor adult means an adult who supervises a child who undertakes authorised fishing activities in the children’s fishing pond at the Tongariro National Trout Centre.
Taupo District means the district described in the Schedule of the Taupo District Order 1983.
Tongariro National Trout Centre licence means a licence that entitles the holder (either a child or a supervisor adult) to fish for trout at the Tongariro National Trout Centre, during the period that is stated in the licence.
trout includes char of any species, and any hybrid of any trout or char; and includes any trout whether alive or dead, and any part of a trout.
week licence means a licence that entitles the holder to take trout within the Taupo District during the period of 7 consecutive days that is stated in the licence.
whole-season means the 12-month period beginning on 1 July and ending on 30 June.
whole-season licence means a licence that entitles the holder to take trout within the Taupo District (except at the Tongariro National Trout Centre) during the 12-month period, beginning on 1 July and ending on 30 June, that is stated in the licence.
Licences and fees
- Director-General may issue licences—The Director-General may issue one or more of the following classes of licence:
a. 24-hour licence.
b. Tongariro National Trout Centre licence.
c. Week licence.
d. Family licence.
e. Whole-season licence.
f. Senior licence.
g. Non-resident licence.

24-hour licence—If the Director-General issues 24-hour licences, an adult or a child may apply to obtain a 24-hour licence from the Director-General on payment of the appropriate fee set out in Part 1 of the Schedule and the Director-General may grant or decline such a licence.

Tongariro National Trout Centre licence—(1) If the Director-General issues Tongariro National Trout Centre licences, a supervisor adult may apply to obtain a Tongariro National Trout Centre licence from the Director-General on payment of the appropriate fee set out in Part 4 of the Schedule and the Director-General may grant or decline such a licence.
(2) If the Director-General issues Tongariro National Trout Centre licences, a child may apply to obtain a Tongariro National Trout Centre licence from the Director-General on payment of the appropriate fee set out in Part 4 of the Schedule and the Director-General may grant or decline such a licence.
- Week licence—If the Director-General issues week licences, an adult resident or an adult non-resident, as the case may be, may apply to obtain a week licence from the Director-General on payment of the appropriate fee set
