Establishment and Revocation of Residences Under the Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Act 2014
I, Louise Upston, Minister of Corrections, being satisfied that the land containing 1.0550 hectares marked as "B" on SO 506305 and all buildings contained on that land are separate and secure, declare, under section 114 of the Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Act 2014, that land and those buildings to be a residence (to be known as the Matawhaiti Public Protection Residence) and revoke the notice dated 12 May 2016 (published in the New Zealand Gazette, 12 May 2016, Issue No. 42, Notice No. 2016-go2684) establishing a residence (known as the Leimon Public Protection Residence).
Defined Area:
Residence under the Public Safety
(Public Protection Orders) Act 2014
located within the grounds of
Christchurch Men’s Prison.
This notice takes effect from 19 January 2017 with respect to the establishment of the Matawhaiti Public Protection Residence and from 20 January 2017 with respect to the revocation of the notice establishing the Leimon Public Protection Residence.
