Extension of State of Local Emergency

Pursuant to section 71 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Lianne Audrey Dalziel, extend the
state of local emergency declared at 6.00pm on 15 February 2017 for the Christchurch City and Selwyn District,
owing to the fire on the Port Hills and surrounding area.

The state of local emergency is extended for seven days immediately before the expiry of the original declaration.
This state of local emergency expires at 6.00pm on 1 March 2017.

Notice of Local Transition Period

Pursuant to sections 94B and 94F of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 (“Act”), I, Lianne Audrey
Dalziel, give notice of a local transition period for the Christchurch City and Selwyn District, following the fire on
the Port Hills and surrounding area.

This local transition period comes into force on the expiry of the state of emergency under section 71(4) of the Act,
namely at 6.00pm on 1 March 2017, and ends at 6.00pm on 29 March 2017 unless extended or terminated earlier.
