Approval of Vanguard Military School Christchurch Limited as Sponsor of Vanguard Military School Christchurch Establishment Notice

Pursuant to section 158B of the Education Act 1989, I hereby give the following notice:

I hereby approve Vanguard Military School Christchurch Limited to be a sponsor of a Partnership School Kura Hourua.
The name of the sponsor’s school is Vanguard Military School Christchurch.
The sponsor’s school will be located in the Christchurch area.
Vanguard Military School Christchurch will be a co-educational senior secondary school.
Education at Vanguard Military School Christchurch will be given for class levels 11 to 13.
Vanguard Military School Christchurch is permitted to provide religious instruction to students.
Vanguard Military School Christchurch will operate with the following aims, purposes and objectives:

i. The school utilises the ethos and training methodology of the military in order to achieve, especially for students/recruits from disadvantaged backgrounds, attitudinal and academic excellence that facilitates multiple exit points into a broad range of further training or employment options.

This notice shall come into force the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 423 of the Education Act 1989, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Schools Support, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietors of the following school:

Bethlehem College (1193).

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on 19 September 2017.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public via the following email address: enquiries.BoP@education.govt.nz.

Approval of Change in School Name and Range of Class Levels at Pacific Advance Senior School, Otahuhu (714)

Pursuant to section 158B of the Education Act 1989, I approve a change of school name for Pacific Advance Senior School to become Pacific Advance Secondary School.
Pursuant to section 153 of the Education Act 1989, I approve a change of range of class levels provided by Pacific Advance Secondary School to provide education for class levels 9–15 from 1 January 2018.
This notice shall come into force the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
