Coroners (Home Office Allowance) Determination 2016
Pursuant to section 110(1)(c) of the Coroners Act 2006, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has made, with effect from 1 October 2016, the following determination.
Notice

Title—This determination is the Coroners (Home Office Allowance) Determination 2016.

Commencement—This determination comes into force on 1 October 2016.

Interpretation—In this determination:
after-hours national duty coroner means the coroner to whom deaths are reported outside of ordinary office hourscoroner:
- means a person holding office under sections 103, 104, 105, or 105A of the Coroners Act 2006; and
- does not include a person who is a coroner by virtue of holding office as a Judge under section 8(d) of the District Courts Act 1947.

Home office allowance
- A coroner is entitled to be paid an allowance of $120.00 for each continuous period of 24 hours or less than 24 hours that the coroner is rostered to be after-hours national duty coroner.
- If a coroner is rostered to be after-hours national duty coroner for a continuous period of more than 24 hours the coroner is also entitled to be paid an allowance of $120.00 for the period in excess of 24 hours.

Revocation—The Coroners (Home Office Allowance) Determination 2013 is revoked.
