Pursuant to section 160(3) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, I, Jeremy Salmond, Treasury Solicitor, hereby give notice that on 17 August 2016, The Honourable Simon William English, Minister of Finance, and The Honourable Dr Jonathan Coleman, Minister of Health, gave approvals, under section 160(1)(b) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, in relation to section 163(1) of that Act, for Canterbury District Health Board to give an indemnity to the Crown in a transfer agreement under section 4 of the Health Sector (Transfers) Act 1993.

Notice of Approval of Amendments to National Code of Practice for Utility Operators’ Access to Transport Corridors by the Minister of Finance Given Pursuant to Section 12 of the Utilities Access Act 2010

I give notice that on 10 August 2016, in accordance with section 16 of the Utilities Access Act 2010, I approved amendments to the National Code of Practice for Utility Operators’ Access to Transport Corridors (“Code”) submitted to me by the New Zealand Utilities Advisory Group on 8 July 2016.

The Code was revised to incorporate these amendments and takes effect on 16 September 2016.

Approval of Vegetables New Zealand Incorporated as the Organisation Representing the Commercial Fresh Vegetable Sector for the Purposes of Part 5A of the Biosecurity Act 1993 (Notice No. MPI 656)

Pursuant to section 100ZA(2) of the Biosecurity Act 1993, the Minister for Primary Industries gives notice that he is satisfied that Vegetables New Zealand Incorporated meets the criteria in sections 100ZA(3), (4), (6), (7) and (9), and Vegetables New Zealand Incorporated represents the commercial fresh vegetable sector for the purposes of Part 5A of the Biosecurity Act 1993.

Call for Waste Advisory Board Nominations

Pursuant to section 93 of the Waste Minimisation Act 2008 (“Act”), the Minister for the Environment is seeking nominations for Waste Advisory Board members.

This Board provides independent advice to the Minister for the Environment on matters relating to:

  • the Act; and
  • waste minimisation more generally.

In appointing members, the Minister must consider the need for the Board to have available collective knowledge, skills, and experience relating to:

  • the Act;
  • matters that are likely to come before the Board;
  • local government;
