Section of State Highway: The section of State Highway 1N at Brynderwyn Hills from 150m north of State Highway 12 to a point 150m south of State Highway 12.
Speed Limit: The variable speed limit may operate when a vehicle is detected approaching the intersection on State Highway 12 or turning right on State Highway 1 and may continue to operate until those vehicles have cleared the intersection, as specified in condition 2 of the Rural Intersection Active Warning System Variable Speed Limit – State Highway 1 and State Highway 12 Intersection, Brynderwyn Notice, New Zealand Gazette, 5 May 2016, Issue No. 40, Notice No. 2016-au2529. When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals "60", the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.

Section of State Highway: The section of State Highway 10 at Oruaiti from 755m east of Simmental Lane to 1145m east of Simmental Lane.
Speed Limit: The variable speed limit may operate for a maximum period of:
a. 35 minutes before the start of school until the start of school;
b. 20 minutes at the end of school, being no earlier than five minutes before the end of school; and
c. 10 minutes at any time when vehicles are entering or leaving the school grounds or there is pedestrian or cycle activity on the road outside the school
as specified in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 August 2016, Issue No. 72, Notice No. 2016-au4743. When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals "60", the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.

c. 10 minutes at any time when vehicles are entering or leaving the school grounds or there is a pedestrian or cycle activity on the road outside the school
