Appointment of a Committee
Under section 9 of the Reserves Act 1977 (“Act”), I hereby appoint
Graeme William Mulligan
Phillip McKenzie
Benjamin James Todhunter
Bill O’Leary
Steve Knight
Director Operations, North South Island, Department of Conservation (ex officio)
to be members of the Molesworth Steering Committee, which is an Advisory Committee for the purposes of the Act, to:
- advise the Minister of Conservation on the biodiversity, recreation and pastoral farming management of Molesworth;
- assist in the preparation of a draft Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for consideration and approval pursuant to section 40B of the Act; and
- advise the Minister of Conservation and Landcorp Farming Limited on any issues arising from the implementation of the terms of the Land Act 1948 lease and the management plan
for those areas of Molesworth Station Recreation Reserve described in the Schedule.
Terms of Appointment
The term of appointment for the above-named members [Graeme William Mulligan, Phillip McKenzie, Benjamin James Todhunter, Bill O’Leary, Steve Knight and the Director Operations, North South Island, Department of Conservation (ex officio)] is to 30 June 2020.
The term of James Guild as chair is extended to 30 June 2020.

All that land declared to be set apart as recreation reserve within New Zealand Gazette, 7 July 2005, No. 105, page 2496 in the notice titled “Declaring Conservation Land to be a Reserve” (ln4278) and New Zealand Gazette, 7 July 2005, No. 105, page 2496 in the notice titled “Reservation of Land” (ln4277).

Application to Export Sperm Whale Bone Carving
Pursuant to section 5(5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Operations Manager, South Westland, notifies that he has received a permit application from Artbay Gallery Limited to export a sperm whale bone carving.
A copy of the application can be obtained from the Department of Conservation, Christchurch Shared Services Unit, Private Bag 4715, Christchurch Mail Centre, Christchurch 8140.
Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Operations Manager, South Westland, c/o Bethan Parry, Christchurch Shared Services Unit, Private Bag 4715, Christchurch Mail Centre, Christchurch 8140, within 28 days from the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give their consent to the release under the Official Information Act 1982 of all the information in the submission.
