Revocation of Notices Under Section 24 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975

Pursuant to section 24(7) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, I, John Crawshaw, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, revoke the approval of the Capital and Coast Addiction Services and medical practitioner issued under this section on 7 March 2014 (New Zealand Gazette, 13 March 2014, No. 29, page 831).

Approval of Capital and Coast Addiction Services and Medical Practitioner to Provide Substitution Treatment Under Section 24 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975

Pursuant to section 24(7)(b) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, I, John Crawshaw, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, specify Capital and Coast Addiction Services as a service that may provide treatment with controlled drugs for people who are dependent on controlled drugs at the following place:

Wellington Regional Hospital
Administration Building
31 Mein Street
Newtown
Wellington 6021

And, pursuant to section 24(7)(a) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, I specify

Dr Sam McBride

as a medical practitioner, may:

a. prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the treatment of dependence to controlled drugs as the lead clinician for Capital and Coast Addiction Services;

b. authorise in writing service/clinic medical practitioners as specified under subsection (2)(b) to:

i. prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the treatment of dependence;

ii. authorise in writing general practitioners receiving clients from Capital and Coast Addiction Services as specified under subsection (2)(d); and

c. authorise in writing general practitioners receiving clients from Capital and Coast Addiction Services as specified under subsection (2)(d).

Conditions

  1. Controlled drugs may only be prescribed, administered or supplied to people who are or have been clients of Capital and Coast Addiction Services.

  2. This approval expires on 31 December 2017.
