General conditions applying to all transmissions under this licence—
-
The frequency ranges, peak power of transmissions within those frequency ranges, and designated uses of frequencies are those prescribed in this licence. All transmissions in a given frequency range must comply with any special conditions relating to that frequency range.

Transmitters, and persons supplying or using transmitters, must comply with the requirements of Regulations 32–37 of the Radiocommunications Regulations 2001.

Frequency use is on a shared basis and the chief executive does not accept liability under any circumstances for any loss or damage of any kind occasioned by the unavailability of frequencies or interference to reception.

Should interference occur to services licensed pursuant to a radio licence or a spectrum licence, the chief executive reserves the right to require and ensure that any transmission or any emission pursuant to this General User Radio Licence change frequency, reduce power, or cease operation.

Transmissions that are broadcasting, as defined in the Broadcasting Act 1989, are not permitted.

Consequential revocation of licence—(1) The Radiocommunications (General User Radio Licence for Short Range Devices) Notice 2014, dated the 2nd day of October 2014, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 2 October 2014, No. 119, page 3335, is revoked.
(2) Notwithstanding the revocation of the notice under subsection (1), every transmitter capable of making transmissions compliant with the requirements of that notice on the commencement date of this notice is deemed to be compliant with the requirements of this notice.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice:
a. expands provision in the frequency range of 0.090 – 0.205 MHz (previously 0.090 – 0.190 MHz) for the operation of determination, telemetry or telecommand devices including inductive applications (for example wireless power transfer devices);
b. adds provision in the frequency range of 0.370 – 0.430 MHz for the operation of determination, telemetry or telecommand devices (for example electronic timing systems for sporting events);
c. expands provision in the frequency range of 3.155 – 3.400 MHz (previously 3.180 – 3.380 MHz) for the operation of auditory aids;
d. adjusts the magnetic field strength limits and/or the respective e.i.r.p. in accordance with international standard for provisions in the frequency ranges of 3.64 – 4.04 MHz, 7.4 – 8.8 MHz and 10.44 – 10.76 MHz;
e. removes the special conditions for the operation of short range devices in the Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) frequency ranges of 6.765 – 6.795 MHz and 13.553 – 13.567 MHz;
f. adds two provisions within the frequency range of 49.82 – 49.98 MHz for the operation of short range devices (for example toy-grade model control) starting from 1 September 2015;
g. suppresses special condition 24 that was previously applicable to frequency range of 921 – 928 MHz; and,
h. removes the duplicated provisions for transmissions in the frequency range of 57 – 66 GHz.
