Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules: 47.8(1)(c)–(d); 47.8(2)(a); Part 82
Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

1 from Maritime Rule 47.8(1)(c)–(d) – Load Lines – Owner’s and master’s obligations – Section 1 – Ships of 24 metres or more in length – Owner’s and master’s obligations – Owner must cause the ship to be surveyed in accordance with the Load Line Convention and afford all necessary facilities for such surveys

1 from Maritime Rule 47.8(2)(a) – Load Lines – Owner’s and master’s obligations – Section 1 – Ships of 24 metres or more in length – Owner’s and master’s obligations – Owner and master must comply with and ensure compliance with this Section and the provisions of Articles 2, 3, 7, 10–15, Annex I and Annex II of the Load Line Convention

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

7 from Maritime Rule 20.21(b) – Operating Limits – Requirement to operate within lesser of operating limits assigned to ship or operating limits that apply to Master – Operating limits within which a master of a ship may perform his or her functions and duties under the privileges associated with the master’s certificate of competency set out in Part 32

7 from Maritime Rule 31.86(1) – Crewing and Watchkeeping – Ships other than ships to which subparts B and C apply – Minimum crewing requirements for fishing vessels – Owner and master of a fishing vessel must not operate that vessel unless there are on board seafarers holding the minimum required certificates and the minimum number of crew in the applicable table and accompanying flow-chart
