Appointment of Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission
Pursuant to section 4I of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission hereby reappoints
Mark Gregory Lawson, electoral official
to be deputy member for Robert Peden, the Chief Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission for the further
period of 24 September 2015 to 30 June 2018.
Resolved by the Electoral Commission on 24 September 2015.

Notification of Proposed Maritime Protection Rules
In accordance with section 446(a) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand, on behalf of the
Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make the following maritime rules:
Part 300 Ballast Water Management
The proposed rules implement the technical and procedural requirements contained in the international
convention for the control and management of ships’ ballast water and sediments 2004.
This rule along with Part 2 of the Biosecurity Law Reform Act 2012 will enable New Zealand to become party to
the convention.
Comments are invited on the above proposed maritime protection rules developed under the Maritime Transport
Act 1994.

Submissions must be made online, by email, or by post by 30 October 2015.
