Education Act 1989

Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Kaitaia Abundant Life School (238)

Under section 105A of the Education Act 1989, I hereby approve the following constitution for the board of trustees of Kaitaia Abundant Life School:

The board of trustees of Kaitaia Abundant Life School will be made up of the following members:

  • one parent representative;
  • the Principal;
  • one staff representative;
  • one student representative;
  • up to three trustees appointed by the Minister of Education;
  • one proprietor’s representative; and
  • up to one co-opted trustee.

This constitution will operate as if sections 96, 97, 99, 101, 102, 104 and 105 of the Act apply where relevant.

For the first elections of parent representative, staff representative and student representative, a returning officer will be appointed by the Commissioner and will carry out the duties in accordance with the Election Regulations.

The first term of office for trustees elected and appointed under this constitution will end seven days after the next triennial election for boards of trustees in 2016.

This notice will come into force on the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Changes to the constitution of the board will be subject to the approval of the Minister of Education and must be notified in the New Zealand Gazette.

Notice of Dissolution of the Board of Trustees of Wanaka Primary School (1167) and Direction to Appoint a Commissioner and Revocation of Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Wanaka Primary School Board of Trustees

Under section 78N(1) of the Education Act 1989, with delegated authority from the Minister of Education, I dissolve the board of trustees of Wanaka Primary School (1167) and direct the Secretary for Education’s delegate to appoint a commissioner to replace that board.

The notice of direction to appoint a limited statutory manager for the board of trustees of Wanaka Primary School (1167) (as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 16 January 2014, No. 4, page 126) is revoked under section 78M(7) of the Education Act 1989.

This notice takes effect on the day of publication.
